Smile Intake, Wich one to take ?

Hi guys, i know this as been discussed a million time, but i want to have specific answer since i didn't find any that satisfy me on which one would be the best along with a bhr resonated midpipe.

http://www.rx7store.net/category_s/316.htm

1.injen
2.AEM
3.Revi
4.HKS

I heard that the OEM air intake that come with the 8, is very good, so i want something that is way better and more louder. Or some will say to keep the stock one and to only change the filter for a K&N one.

Wonder what is the best ?
Correct me if i need to post this in another thread!

AEM and Racing Beat are the only ones that make power at all (it's MINIMAL) and the AEM is the only one of those two that is much louder (and it can be used as an intake if you go turbo). Stock intake is maybe 1-2hp behind and it's free.

minimal power gain and it doesn't seem to filter the air as good. Remove the baffles inside the intake that are under the filter for a little gain in sound.

Because logically, if i can exit more with the bhr resonated midpipe, i need to suck more right ?
Or again maybe the stock intake is far than enough, even with the bhr exhaust.

Your theory is sound but you need to spend more time searching this forum given the platform you're going to mod

You can't exit more than you can suck. Try it with your lungs.

Nice i will do that, and just stay stuck, i don't wanna go turbo yet.
Heard that the bhr will be a nice mid-range boost, I'll stick with that for modification, and maybe few little improvements that i can make myself, i will search on the forum.

I plan on getting the AEM some day. I want it more for the intake sound... But that's after ignition and tuning... Those will give you more power.

You can also take out the first screen in front of the MAF. That will help a bit.

Mmmh , i wont take it out then. I think i will not mess with the intake system, leave it like it is, maybe just buy a K&N to be able to wash, and clean the MAF with electrical cleaner every time i do oil.

So i might order a K&N washable air filter and a bottle of Redline water wetter to low the temp a bit. Bhr resonated mid pipe is good but i am considering a test pipe with the oem exhaust its allot more cheaper, i don't want allot of sound, what i want is performance from liberating the exhaust.

Your not going to get any performance out of the 8

All a mid pipe does is make you a Federal criminal.

I took the two bafflers out of the airbox. Little plastic walls inside the box, close to where the intake draws air. Didn't seem to help at all... There are two wire mesh screens in front of the MAF. One about 6 inches from it, one about 3.

I haven't removed one yet, but it seems like there would be a tiny benefit... I guess we'll see though.
