intake prototype II (installed)

as you all know, im the guy that messes around with intakes, my last design used a long vent hose to suck air directly from the bottom of the front bumper, tho this was good idea. the car had major idling problems, and the filter was getting beat up by rocks on the road. my Prototype II is a step better. it is similar to the SR and RE, i have a heat shield box with a heat shiled shroud around the cone filter just like the SR intake..... i have some picks posted. sorry for the quality i didnt have time to get a digi cam. illl take some pictures of the installed intake tomorow. as for the performance, i can feel the RPM's go up faster......not much..but enough that i can tell......the sound is awesome.....its deep and loud as hell if u floor it....and for the heat issues...i think my dual heat shield works wonders! =) i will be at the OC meet to show off the intake next week.....

but have you actually tested it scientificly with atmospheres of pressure to see if this is even helping or making it worse. when you said idling problem maybe you did poorly and there was less pressure then b4. not to be an ***. just 1 thought

:D You seem to have made what appears to be a shielded K&N Typhoon short ram intake, sans mondo filter.

eh. it's non-official. it's something a group of us RX8club guys do because we like to hang out more than once a month. We do it on Thursday nights in Buena Park. There is a thread called OC Weekly planner in the west forums that you can get more info from.

What is your intake setup (what does "revised" mean)?

I've been interested in this prototype intake for a while, and I'm eager to see some pictures.

dont worry guys! this intake will be on the market in due time! my partner and i are testing the intake on my car, this intake is more for show and sound, it set off a car the other day when we wer testing it.....the box will be made out of CF, or polished aluminum, with a CF, polished al, or clear cover (plexi glass)......like i said, a bit more time and this will be on the market. for those who show up at the OC meets you guys will get a good price =)

For those that can't read minds, he means it set off a car alarm :P

I wouldn't have known if he didn't explain it last Thursday...!
