Nope. Run a search. There are many many many threads on it. Before the heat shield was added there were idling problems, especially in traffic.

metal cools off faster and deflects heat

The stock intake sucks (!) thru a small oval gap over top of the radiator.
Take it off and put a huge K&N on and all you suck is hot air from behind the rad, you do the math.

Bent....

The two models of heat shield I have seen are just bent aluminum sheet, nothing to keep the hot air from the rad out.
So not a 'cold air intake', just an engine bay sucker.

but my question is, does it make a deference? most of the intake kits they have for our cars dont gain or loose HP, and those intakes are just in the engine bay,..........hey rotor do you have an xtra shield?

What if you try something even sillier, like adding heat-reflective material to the outside of the existing airbox? Would that improve stock performance at all, you think?
