Installing AP Underdrive Pulley
So I just received my Agency Power Underdrive Pulley in the mail today, and I am excited to get it installed. There is one question though that I have:
Should I attempt to install this myself (I am not the best when it comes to DIY's), or should I take it to a place to get it installed?
The only notable shop around where I live is Agile Automotive, but they specialize in STI's. Would they be knowledgeable enough about the rotary engine to install the Pulley? I am sure it is pretty straightforward, but would there be anything different that they would need to know about?

dont think there is a DIY
1. remove batter to gain acces to e shaft pully
2. use the torque nut to take off the belt (both of them)
3. remove bolts holding e shaft pully (look at the new pully to see where the bolts are and to see what size socket to use)
4. pull pully free once all bolts are removed
5. put new AP pully on
6. fasten bolts on new pully
7. use the torque nuts again to put the new belts on (need to use the ones the new pully came with)
8. put battery back in car.
done......

I'll do it the next day I am off (which who knows when that will be because school is starting back up). I hate trying to rush to finish things so I'll devote a whole day to it even though it won't take that long.

This whole install can be done with a basic socket set. You'll spend more in labor than it cost for the pulley.

Turn the ignition to the "on" position so you get full dash lights. Press the brake pedal I blieve 21 or 22 times until the oil pressure gauge moved to the halfway position and then falls to zero. Then start the car and drive normally.

Right behind the oem pulley youll see the "plate with spikes" that is the e-shaft positioning plate.
When I installed mine I had to align it back on right or you will get high idle and a blinking cel. I ended up putting it on unside down. So make sure all the holes are lined up or else it'll be out of balance. And when you start it, make sure it doesn't wobble or appear unbalanced.
One way to avoid all this is; When you remove the oem pulley that is a 2 peice, remove it very slowly and wrap your fingers around the plate with spikes so you dont drop it as you pull if off. With a black marker make the side that will face the front of the car leaving the other side blank that will face the engine when you put it back on.

You don't need to remove the ESS or disconnect the battery.
But after the install, you do need to reset the NVRAM (e-shaft profile).
People tend to get a CEL because they didn't reset the NVRAM.
In that case, they will have to disconnect the battery for 10min to clear the CEL.
But will still need to reset the NVRAM so the CEL doesn't return.
