Install of a sr high flow cat

Anyone have a guide to installing a SR motorsports highflow cat? I figured it would be pretty easy just take off the stock part and bolt in the highflow cat but I thought i would make sure.

you have the right idea, unbolt the stock one, rebolt the new one using the same gaskets and you are good to go. Be careful when removing the 02 sensor from the stock cat though, if it breaks, about $300 to get another one!

Not so fast......

Not quite as easy as it sounds, if the manifold AND cat-back parts are still in place, it can be a biatch!

The cat has to move back about three inches to clear the studs.
You have to take off both the cross brace/supports under the cat then pry the whole thing backwards.

The studs on the front of the cat are welded in, putting a wrench to them will just break something. Undo from the manifold side.

lil benny i have a stock exhaust I actually bought the high flow cat from zoomzoom8. I'm going to see how it sounds and then probably get a sp2.

So with the possibility of breaking a 300 sensor do you think its just better to get it installed for $75

i have had mine in and out several times with no breakage, just make sure you get a good bite with the wrench, you don't want to round it. Spray some wd 40 on it too.
