Now that a count of 4, of people getting an 8 at 17.

Talk about luck for us.

I appreciate my car more than my health. If it gets that bad, eating Sonic all the time, then i'll at least die happy

packerfan, you should consider the RB race exhaust. It's about 525 plus shipping, but you also get a 13 lb weight reduction. May not seem like a lot, but it sure does add up. It is pretty loud too, it sounds awesome at full throttle.

packerfan, it sounded great without the other parts. it has a nice deep and throaty sound to it. it did have a little rasp to it at certain point but it wasnt bad at all. all the other parts i put on the car were mainly to add performance and not ealy just for sound. my friends tell me that the car sounds like a race car. if i get my camera working ill make a clip of how it sounds.

TDI.... "TURBO deisel injected"... but whatever.. im saving up.. like eveyone said.. go for the 6 speed, trade it in or something..
lol man i'm 23 got mine when i was 21 and have paid for everything on my own too, and i mean everything from the turbo, to the tint, and my father does the same thing... so it never changes no matter how old you are (that's y i just keep my car in my garage and try to never let him come over and see how much money i've actually spent on it, don't want the poor guy to have a heart attack).

I saw you are in Tampa, there is a rather large group of 8's that meet up in tampa and orlando alot. You can see everything from rims , exhausts, intakes, turbos, etc.... they all discuss meets and stuff at www.flrx8club.net I have met quite a few of them they are good people.

If you get the auto 8, the 2006 and 2007 autos have the 6 port engines found in the MTs however with a lower redline of 7500 rpm, which results in 212 advertised HP compared to the 232 advertised HP on the MT) and a 6 spd transmission. Just make sure you get the sports package that adds the Xenon HID lights, larger front brakes, 18 inch rims, Dynamic stability and traction control which is a $2000 MSRP/$1700 invoice option, tell your dad its a must because of the SAFETY of the DSC/TC. If you dont get it you'll be kicking yourself later on. The Touring/Grand Touring/Shinka options just adds extra creature comforts (boss radio, sun roof, leather, etc) but sports or in the 2007 "Performance" package is a must.

Save yourself about a thousand bucks and get the stick! There's more power already! Now, you've got yourself $1500. to spend on intake & exhaust if you want or you can make your own monthly payments for a few months till your 'rents take the reins.

I ended up buying a 6spd auto myself but it was a tough choice to make, but after considering how often i'm stuck in stop and go traffic in Los Angeles I just went with the auto. I been driving a manual Acura RSX for the last 3 years and auto trannies are so nice for traffic jams lol. After I get my BS degree next year i'll be buying a 2nd car so i'll get a MT of whatever I choose then. It's an auto but I still love my 8.

Dshiznit1489 my current favorite is the Racing Beat REVi with Ram Air Intake. Looks great, almost stock when you lift the hood and the ram air ducts fits perfectly behind the stock plastic grill. Just went down to their office today to pick up their exhaust system and next month i'll be picking up the intake box w/ram air duct along with the oil/AC condenser protective screen.
