I was told this might happen..........
Just installed OBX Midpipe, drove around for a bit and now have a P0420 code. I was told that this might happen after installing the pipe but, was never given a fix for this. My cat was starting to go bad before the install and i also put in a new 02S. Has anyone come across this.

He's as bad as Can
This happens to most people that install one. If your under 80,000 the CAT is under a warranty.
The fixes are
Black tape over the CEL light
Purchase a COBB to program the CEL away
Get a used / new CAT replacement.
Keep in mind the CEL doesn't effect the performance of the car.

Spring is in the air. The 8's are coming out and everyone is happy.
expo said it right away.
cheap = tape
effective = cobb
oh, ummmmm yeah. That was a retarded question that has been covered a billion times here.
There is a search tool. SEARCH !
We don't need more pointless threads.
Research.
Than search again!!!OMG!!!
I've never really been one to do that so I beat someone to it.
(my car is dirty from winter driving, and I hate springtime)

I work at a mazda dealer as a tech so the cat aint a issue.
Cobb is a good idea.
I wouldn't consider this a nobbie question, just wanted some insite on the cel to see wat other members did to get pass the cel with a midpipe, I know it wont effect the performance of m 8 i do notice some pick up and go with the midpipe installed

Actually I've had to replace the front O2 as well .... but that was from the threads being damaged trying to remove it from the OEM header.

I'm assuming you have a series I RX8. If it's a series II, I do not believe the Cobb AP is a workable solution.
Yes, it is.
Part of the reason the search function does not work so well is because people title their threads with these crazy out in left field titles.
Ummmm sorry that last bit is directed at the entire RX8 Community.
Butt dyno's don't count here.
You might have picked up 5-8hp without a tune, maybe, not really butt dyno big enuf to feel.
