YEAH the more i think about the single ones the more i like them Why spend your hard earned money just to have an exact replica of the stock standard exhaust ?( THAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS)
If i decide to change mine i think i will have them designed to follow the lines of the inner plastic bumpers as on the MAZDA SPEED.
YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE.

The double tipped square opening looked to much like a Trans-Am..yyyuuucckkkkk...but as someone photoshopped a while back in another post, a central (boxter type) might look good...even better fitted in the rear rotary symbol...hey now that's an idea...

The exhaust is at the store! WOW! it is even nicer in person. As far as pricing, it is comparable to the exhausts available in Japan including GReddy.
Don't quote me, but from what I heard the GReddy exhaust retails for about $1100 in Japan. It's cheaper here because they (don't quote me, it's what I heard) are made in Mexico while the HKS exhaust is built in Japan.
HP wise, most of the exhausts will yield nearly identical results. It seems that what you want to pay depends less on performance and more on weight, sound, and appearance.
But damn! the HKS looks sweet!
off to the dyno for baseline runs...

Keep in mind that is MSRP (or what someone pays when they are silly enough to get it from HKS) and it will be a fair amount cheaper when purchased through an aftermarket vendor. Lastly HKS is not cheap, but they always make good qulity parts. Their Turbos are some of the most well made in the business and their welds and materials are almost always top notch.
As a frame of reference the HKS Hi-Power is listed at $670 but can be had for $550 shipped rather easily.

i'll just sit hear and let all of you duke it out and meanwhile just wait for the RB to get to my doorstep as soon as i can get around to ordering one and them getting it to me that is. i'm really not in any hurry since the car isn't going anywere and the parts for it are going nuts.

I'm still waiting for someone to come out with just a single tip exhaust for this car. They have them for the 2nd gen RX-7. It's not that I like them or think they look better.
I like the idea of rotary-shaped tips.
It just seems like a staight thru design would be better just for the fact that it has far less bends and less piping.

HKS Exhaust installed!
Sadly no, not on my car, but a local buddy just had it put on his 8. First of all, the stock unit is heavy. The HKS was about 30 pounds on a guess. but the important part is how it works right? Welp the sound is much throatier than the stock or Borla units. There is also a definit HP increase as witnessed by 3 different guys testing the car. Alex will be posting pictures and a clip later on today if not tonight (gonna try for some flames).
But it gets a big thumbs up from me at least.

As soon as I figure out how, I'll post the pics and video with sound
The Exhaust is worth every penny!!!!! Only after having to get back into my car without the exhaust (it's in Armando's car) do I notice that the cars is transformed from a weed whacker to a hairy chested beast.
It is Much Deeper than any other i've heard, there is No Drone while cruising. The fit and Finish is just amazing.
Oh, and both Genom and I got to Drive it :D :D :D

If someone could host the video I could put it up, though tonight I will try to capture some flames.
The sound is sooo nice. I happened to have the video of the borla in my lap top and played both the HKS vid and borla vid back to back.
I know it's not a good comparison, but the Borla sounded "raspier" and the HKS was much deeper. At Idle it sounds almost stock (almost ).
Whatever they put into those mufflers works. Oh and the butt dyno definitely feels improvement.

Better get the exhaust surrounds that fit in the rear facia. I suspect those big pipes will start to melt the facia, otherwise (Canzoomer has already melted his, with the stock exhaust).
Looks nice.
