i think they are all very similar, but are they ever going to look different? they all have to be dual exhausts. so they all lok pretty much the same,
this one says hks on it though :-)
it looks nice, the tips are very large but they look badass
i cant wait to hear what it sounds like

any dynos?

HKS in CA supposedly received two exhausts, one they kept for an employ to put on his car the other was sent to Miami.

The car in CA was dyno'd 4 times to get an avg base line of 176HP

The exhaust was put on and dyno'd 4 more times to get an avg of 185HP

Not bad considering it is a NA car.

oh, and before you ask... I have no idea what the conditions were when dyno'd nor do I have access to those dyno sheets. :p

lol.....the more and more exhaust systems i see for the rx-8, the more i am afraid i can only afford the borla. not knocking the borla by any means, but i am too poor to throw over a grand for something that will perform and look approximatley the same as something that can be bought for half the price.

pretty much they all look the same. Space is a concern.

I threw up a single shot and there are singles available...

I'm still waiting for someone to come out with just a single tip exhaust for this car. They have them for the 2nd gen RX-7. It's not that I like them or think they look better. Far from it actually. I just like hearing all the foolish people argue over why one is better than the other. :D

There are more and more people coming out with exhausts for the RX-8. Face the real facts. The exhaust only needs so much flow through it. If every exhaust out there meets these needs then one will probably not do any better than another one that also flows enough. Once you hit the peak you can't do any better. It doesn't matter which name is stamped on it or how much it costs. Different mufflers do sound different though so most likely you are going to pay more or less for a certain type of sound. In all truth if you have a little welding skill or can get it done for cheap, you can get an exhaust that performs just as well as most of the aftermarket companies but for a fraction of the price. I have always built my own exhaust systems for my RX-7s and the RX-8 will be no exception. If you are willing to pay $1200 for an exhaust system then it's all good. Do what you like and that is all that matters. I personally would rather make one for less than $300 total and have equal performance but much more money left over to spend on other parts of the car. But that is just me. I do admit though that there are some really nice aftermarket systems out there and some of them just sound great. I'm just cheap I guess! :D

rotarygod: If I had welding equpiment or easy access to it, I would learn to make my own.

Sadly, thats not an option for now so a Borla I will get.

Unless you wanna make me one. But a roadtrip to Texas for an exaust might be a bit much.

This being like ya said, not much difference between them and Borlas are the ones I can get the cheapest right now.

Unhappy

dislike websites like that. no information on the exhaust system whatsoever. just a picture and a price and we'll all probably have to wait for dyno results and sound clips.

Should be here soon...

Everyone call HKS and ask why theirs is so much more than GReddy's

...Maybe they'll wise up and lower the price

For those of you that don't want your exhaust to look stock standard, consider this:

Talking

Or this:

These were done in photoshop, the exhaust is off the Chrysler Crossfire. Maybe the exhaust could be of similar shape to the inner aluminium shaped protectective cover for the RX8

(Maybe some of the exhaust manufacturers could start thinking outside the circle. Why spend all the money on a system that looks the same as the stock standard one but in some cases not as good).
