hey guys, i want to replicate the helix exhaust, and i need to know how many people is down buying a replica helix exhaust (a taiwanese exhaust manufacture is willing to do the R&D to make it down to the exact same sound as the real helix). i need to know how many people would be interested to buy the exhaust (they said a minimum of 50 exhaust need to be made) so spread the word guys!
ill start the group buy interest. (by the way, Niel89 agreed to letting me borrow the exhaust so this company can R&D it to make their replica sound just like the helix)

You'll really have to provide price points for volume. How can ANYONE commit without an idea of the MOST they will be paying?

oh right by the way, its gonna be around 450-500 for the exhaust, and its gonna be a 3 inch.

 

i'll need some time to make a decision because i was just in an accident and i dont know what is going to be happening with the car. after i find out from the insurance place and the auto body place i'll throw my name in the hat

 

Do you have any pictures you can show of it, or any sound clips?

 

I think the easier way to do this would be to find out the mufflers and tips that they used and then just take it to Meineke and get them to do all the piping. Might end up being cheaper too.

 

people, all i need is for you guys to show interest. none of you needs to send me any money to fund the R&D of this exhaust. as long as there are enough people showing interest (by the way its not like the exhaust has already been made, in fact it wont be made for another couple of months) so the company knows its worth going through the trouble to replicate the same sounding exhaust for us.

thanks for pointing that out swoope! anyways, i have some updates on this exhaust. my contact is going to talk to the taiwanese company about making a prototype first, they are then going to put it on a rx8 in taiwan, record a sound clip, then email it to me, ill post it on the forum in a couple of months. now, within that time frame, i am hoping i can get at least 50 people interested. once i post the sound clip, whoever is interested can then decide if they want this replica exhaust to go into production. price is going to be more or less 500 dollars, and for the titanium exhaust question, well lets see if there are more demands for it first.
