Exclamation Greddy kit / whp / dyno chart / I really need some advice ..

Hi

I was reading articles on the forum of people getting over 300whp with the Greddy kit. Are those 300whp figures possible with the standard small Greddy turbo ? Are other things changes aswell to get this sort of whp figures?

I have attached the latest Dyno chart. Can you guys take a look at these sheets for me please ? The car is producing 240bhp/200whp at this moment... I am running at the default 5psi. Are these figures too low for a Greddy kit?

Can anyone advice me on this please ?

Cheers

Steve

Somethings wrong with your dyno graph. Your horsepower is lower than your torque if I read that right. I've never seen a rotary engine with that kind of characteristic. The only engines I've seen like that are deisels. Also mathmatically the horsepower and torque should be equal at 5252 rpm for any correct dyno chart. I would start with getting a solid dyno chart before taking any next steps.

edit:

Here's a link I found describing what I mean by "your dyno chart is wrong."

^ that relation, that the HP and Torque should be equal at 5250RPM is only valid if power is measured in HP and torque in ft-lbs. These measurements are in HP and Nm, which is a strage combination. Also, the colors on the graphs are inconsistent. One power curve is red, the other black. Same for torque.

As far as getting 300HP, you need to crank the boost to 10psi or more. 5-7psi should get you 220-240 whp or so, depending on the tune.

It is possible to crank out 300hp with the greddy, but alot of pramiters will be maxed, such as the stock fuel system, stock ignition, and the turbo itself will be pretty much maxing itself out because the motor is pulling in more air than the turbo can handle so your boost is going to drop off early. I'd say if you're wanting 300 with the greddy kit, then first upgrade fuel and ignition (and it would be wise to get a proper EMS like a interceptor). I'm running stock fuel and ignition and because i ran boost pretty high i'm not facing some problems with the car.

Good catch on the Nm for torque. You're right. Rather odd that it shows hp and Nm. You will probably get some good input from these folks if you can post your AFR's on an RPM graph as well.

And they are not getting 300 whp at anywhere close to 5 psi. The 5 psi is because the turbo can't get enough air & is rapidly dropping off, but before that you are looking at a good 10-12 psi of boost before that. Manuel (from PR) basically maxed out the Greddy turbo kit (including putting on an external wastegate) and got to about 310 whp, but after that efficiency rapdly dropped off.

The dynorun is done in Europe...we measure... hp and Nm. (see ECEpwr and ECE torque)
about the colors.... first run = red (HP and Nm) last run = black (Hp and Nm)

What kind of EMS you guys would recommend on the RX8 with turbokit?
