Thumbs down Greddy Exhaust system on EBAY claiming 21WHP

Check out this ad on EBAY....what a joke.

I think Racing beats said that even if you removed the muffler all you would get is 4WHP gain.

Mazda RX-8 RX8 Full Greddy exhaust system!
This setup dyno'd @ 21 whp gain. LOOK INSIDE!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33630

Of note, no catalytic converter, which I think would gain you 4WHP....but nothing like the DYNO chart they are showing on the auction page.

Amazing thing is that somebody has bid on it.......This person must want it for the way it sounds???

How come there is an RX-7.com logo up top, and what does "uncorrected" mean in the drop down box above the logos? It's funny, because a good portion of the people who read that will believe it.

This is bull ****.
That dyno result is from Rotary Performance. The owner of RP owns RX7.com... Those dyno results are with a combined Exhaust and Midpipe. More info can be found on RX7.com

This rice shop seller is misrepresenting those dyno results in a horrible attempt to claim that 21whp came from the exhaust alone.

They probably got 8-9 peak horsepower out of it. They have also just plagarised the results from Rotary Performance's webpage. Those guys probably have never even seen a dyno. They definitely don't own one.

Uncorrected means that the dyno run does not take into account atmospheric conditions to show you how the car would perform on a perfect day. It shows you how much power the car actually made right then. Corrected shows you results on a 60 degree day at sea level with no humidity. How often do we see that? Rotary Performance is in Dallas. The weather in Texas is unpredictable. We can't tell from those runs if the car was dyno'd the same day or not. Corrected numbers would account much better for different temperatures and humidity levels between runs but uncorrected are subject to whatever the weather is right then. You typically don't want to use corrected for turbo cars but for nonturbo cars you do.

Thanks rotarygod and bigolundh for clearing that up. Can't the seller be sued for copyright infringement or anything? I don't know my practical law too well(sorry) And what about false advertising? I know a lot of companies give more optimistic numbers than actual, but this is extremely drastic. Enlighten me lawyers or smart people.

Maybe they took the RX7 dyno and superimposed the 8 number over the 7 because no way in hell is any exhaust, or even an exhaust with midpipe going to make 21 whp on this car. In RB's test they said even with full race headers & straight pipe they got only about 10 hp on our cars. On turbo cars the exhaust/backpressure can mean a world of difference, but on NA cars unless you have a big V8, I don't think I have ever seen 21 whp out of exhaust, and midpipe.
