i have it on my car, was just for fun got it for a little cheaper with haggling, it fits fine, sounds a bit raspy, only problem with it ive had was the origanal nuts on the rear came off, very loud when that happens,
i think the random weld on the pipe was ugly but it fit, no problems

dont expect much for 120$ lol, i bought it so i didnt have to worry about it when the turbo goes in(while i save for a diffrent exasuht header back).

sounds like a mid pipe with no resonator , its raspy in alot of places, suggest either waiting for the racingbeat one to come out, or fluid has a reproduction of the mazsport one you can pick up if you dont want to deal with raspy sound, also fluid has a cc insert that should help (not a fluid fan boy ^_^)

I was running no muffler and had a turn down installed so this is 100x louder than what it would be with muffler installed.
I'll post a new vid this weekend with the muffler back on.

Fit was perfect and the install was... well it went ok. The studs that OBX supplies with the mid pipe are very cheap. I went to the parts house and picked up some extra as soon as the first one stripped. The car is only 3 years old. What the hell was Mazda thinking when they used the bolts they did on the stock cat?
For the price I am very happy!

I just recently purchased and installed the OBX midpipe for $125. The only real reason I did this was to avoid cat failure, and possible engine damage.
The midpipe itself looks pretty good - the welds and flanges are really nice, and the bends are decent. The quality was certainly worth $125 imo.
The installation went ok - fitment was good. It was the removal of the old cat/resonator that was a PITA. Two of the three nuts on the header side broke off, with the bolts being seized. It took lubricant, a torch, impact hammer, and some old fashion prying on the other end of the pipe to get it removed.. I couldn't imagine doing it without a hoist.
The sound? Well, I'm kinda partial. It IS louder (I'm still using the stock exhaust), but not excessive. It's the note that kinda gets me - because it does kinda sound ricer civic like under acceleration. Maybe if I had a bit more power to back up the noise I wouldn't feel so bad
As for the O2 - I used the spark plug non-fouler trick which seemed to work fine for at least 30 or so miles, however I did end up getting a CEL which I had not had the time to check yet. Anyone got any suggestions regarding this?
