Free Revi and duct?

Just got this in an E-mail.

Anybody in California that can do without their car for a short time?

California RX-8 Owners -
We Need Your Help!

Racing Beat needs your help! We are currently looking for a relatively stock 2007 or 2008 model year Mazda RX-8 for emissions testing purposes. This vehicle will be used for California Air Resources Board exemption testing of the Racing Beat REVi Intake System. We will need to use the vehicle for approximately 1 week and the car owner will be provided a FREE & INSTALLED REVi Intake and Duct at no charge.

The testing procedure requires installation of the intake by Racing Beat, followed by emissions testing at an independent testing facility. The test is a "non-aggressive" test and requires minimal driving of the vehicle prior to the actual testing (approx 50-70 miles).

If you are interested in participating in this test or have additional questions, email us with your contact information. Please provide name, daytime phone number, city of residence, list of modifications, and mileage.

I would do it in a heartbeat.
I paid nearly $500 for my RB intake w/ the air duct ($350 for the intake & $145 for the duct).
Giving up the car for one week is nothing for this item.

only....? i dont know but i paid big bucks for my intake and duct. of course.... they should give you headers, exhaust, test pipe, ignition wires, and maybe a flash also for testing your car for a week... LOL but seriously i think it would be worth it if you live near by though.

If you live close and dont need your car for a week then hell yea do it.

Do you know how much it cost to rent a car for a week? I'm just saying at least throw in an intake and headers or something its not like they short on items lol

I dont know why RB is doing this. I have friends who are smog techs and friends that work for the BAR which is the enforcement department for the carb and both the smog tech and the bar guy said that the racing beat does not need a carb certificate because it uses all the stock sensor and it is not an open element system. Why should RB waste $5000+ on carb certifcation?

RB has long said that they would seek a CARB cert for their intake and I for one am extremely excited to hear they're sticking to their word.

I would gladly send my car to RB and trust them with it but mine is an '05 and I don't qualify under the 'relatively stock' category.
If they don't mind putting my stock cat back on for me and then putting the RP back on when they're done, I'd do it for a set of their new headers!
(since I already own just about every RB product out there)

Zoom: Think Jim and the gang would go for that?

Well hell. I've got an 07 rx8 with nothing but a short shifter for engine mods. And I can give the car up for a while.

*sends an e-mail*
