Flywheel relating to loss of torque?

I've been looking through most of the flywheel threads and not any of them pretains to loss of torque. Reason why i brought this up is because everyone i have spoken to, mostly honda/nissan people, they said that reduced in too much wait till cause loss of torque..

I was seriously looking into the Fidanza Flywheel and i know Abbid(sp?) had a video of it and was wondering if anyone else with the Fidanza Flywheel could chime in on their experiences with this. i know this is probably one of the lightest flywheels on the market.

How does the car respond compared to the stock flywheel, any major notice in the low end? between shifts and launches how did the RPM band respond? did it drop as quickly as it revs?

i know our cars are already low on torque, but are their any dyno graphs with a new fly wheel? do they even SHOW on a dyno chart?

thanks guys for any info.

I don't think you could have looked too hard .
Anyway - no loss in torque . Only requires a few extra revs to get moving from a standstill . No other drawbacks . I went with HD clutch at same time & regret doing this but would do the flywheel again without doubt .

light flywheel will improve gains everywhere but drivability.

car has much faster acceleration in all gears.

got it. i was just looking at the flywheel thread, looks like the stock fly is pretty light itself.

i guess it's just relearning to drive the car after getting a lighter flywheel huh?

depend how good you are at manual. It could take anywhere from 30 seconds to a few days to get used to it again.

that's a pretty nice video. thanks Stat! looks like the RPM drop between shifts was pretty fast, so it might require faster shifts between gears to keep the rpms up?

it does, its nothing absurdly fast but it does take a bit of skill to catch correctly.

I have Fidanza and ACT HD clutch

I dont think FW will affect drivablitiy at all, I think its the clutch that makes it harder to lauch/startup smoothly

Took me about 2 days to get used to the new clutch, now Im driving like my stock fw/clutch setup.

Lighter FW will give you faster accel. in all gears, most noticeable in the first 3 gears. Will HP/TQ increase? nope, its just that your engine will spin faster result in faster respond.

but its also MUCH easier to stall with lighter FW, that might be one of the problem with some people. happned to me a few times, mad embarrassing.

oh yeah, u can do heel and toe easier,
