I have an 04 with 30,000 miles on it with greddy exhaust anf no cats. I get my *** kicked my my buddys 350z, 06 eclipes, and 04 mustang gt i feel like i should be close to them but im not. It feels like im loseing hp everytime i put on aftermart part anyone have any ideas?

 

how/where do you shift?

what am parts do you have?

plus the 8 will be slower in a 1/4 mile everytime against the Z.

 

ya i shift at like 8500 and its mostly on the street i would think i would be close to them

 

and i lost to a 1.8t and it only have 210hp

 

RX8 is not a straight line car. Even if the 1.8t had 210hp it has more torque so in a short race it would still win unless you are a really good driver. Dont shift at 8.5k take it to 9k so you stay in the higher powerband as much as possible.

When was the last time you changed your coils and plugs?

 

Compression test, dyno, or drag race it and trap above 93. That should indicate if your making 'normal' power. Bolt ons dont do anything except add noise and better throttle response. Read my sig, Im still running 15's.

Cars that have fallen cause of my 8 are g35's, Mustang Gt's, i need to run a s2k.. ive also lost to a new 06 SI with intake cat back and midpipe..

The 8 isnt a straight away car but it also isnt something to be taken lightly its a little 1.3 to reckon with..

You should be able to beat an eclipse....I would say change your plugs/coils and get a compression test.

 

I would say dont street race and learn to drive.

u should change your coils every 20,000 miles. learn how to drive the car better i have raced 350z, evo's, and gt mustangs have yet to loose. i have intake,headers,exhaust,pullys . i normaly pull away pretty fast, well evo's i only beat on the hwy, awd sucks on hwy.
