Feeler: Tranny Swap?

Okay, so I got my '07 stormy blu off some auction and got a ridiculous deal on it...

but I am coming from an evo V so the transition to the Auto from the 5spd box i used to ahv hasnt quite kicked in yet... but i am indeed missing it...

I've been toying with the idea of a complete conversion to the 6spd manual box but im told it is not only costly but tricky...

Since I'm not one to run from tricky.. I was kinda curious if anyone wanted wat i had a practically brand new transmission with less than 2k on it...

Authorized Mazda Dealer could sign & send documents to confirm its condition etc. but I think I really want that manual setup.

Your thoughts are all welcome.

Wiring harness, brake MC, PCM, gauge cluster, radiator, carbon fiber driveshaft, powerplant frame and some other bits. Oh, and the transmission.
Clutch pedal and bracket, center console and brake pedal.

Sell the car and buy one with the proper transmission. If you got such a great deal, you will make money on the transaction.

I know it's a lot of work but I'm prepared + not everyone has the option to just go out and buy, I'm kind of stuck in an area where they don't really ship the RX8 by default.

So I have to go on auctions myself or find what I can and buy ...

I would really be interested in getting all that stuff and converting to the manual, I'm sure it cannot be that difficult, who knows, probably someone has done it.

Or is interested in goin auto ??? :P

If you want a Manual that bad instead of going through the head ache it would be cheaper to sell it and buy a used Manual

that's an assumption given where you guys live and the availability of such options.

i live in jamaica, there's like 2 other rx8 here, no one is selling theirs.

No matter how hard it is to find RX8s in your area, it WILL be cheaper and easier to just trade it for a manual. There's a reason no one has ever done a tranny swap.

Or leave it as a 5speed and put a turbo or SC in it...

I would like to see how a 5speed compares to a 6speed with FI.
