got mine and installed....LOVEE IT.

from the inside it sounds pretty loud....i havent had anyone drive my car so i could hear the outside yet but everyone tells me that its really not bad on the outside unless i really hit it. But everyone also tells me the sound it makes is just AWESOME.......even my mother was like wow that sounds really good and she hated all other aftermarket exhausts lol.

my gf reved it for me while i stood outside of the car and the tone is nice but everything is better while the car is driving.

What can you do about the shrouds melting beside getting a new rear lip?

mine havent melted at all but i only have about 3 hours of driving time. as far as keeping them from melting if thye do i dont really think theres much u can do. i myself will eventually get the mazdaspeed rear.

UPDATE: My friend drove the car while i stood outside. car is pretty loud on the outside. but again im just soooo in love with the sound this exhaust makes that the loudness kinda doesnt even phase me. this is not the loudest thing ive heard or even close...but for those of you who dont want anything to loud i probably advise you to meet up with someone who has this before you buy

I forgot who, but someone makes shrouds for them.. I think MySql has them. Kinda pricey though.... I'd prob try and fab something up first.

Hey x8tuner44, can you post pix of your exhaust to the side? I want to see how far the tips stick out.
THanks man!

Beautiful sound...obviously not the same as in person...but I think it is just about pitch perfect. I figured this exhaust would be louder than the other version exhaust they have because the mufflers seem smaller.

Umm I know someone once suggested that you purchase the exhaust shroud finishers. Stainless steel...they look good. Of course after that...there was a post about how expensive they are.

EDIT: $229 - WOW.

I dont understand how you guys love this exhaust so much when the fit is horrible and thats why it melts the shrouds. To me it could have been done better.
