It really depends on the sound you want. In my opinion it is between Racing beat or Borla. Both very reputable companies. Also Midpipe / catless ect. can make a difference. Really up too sound and what your looking for. Also money differences. Theres many threads on this subject.

youtube can be your friend when deciding on an exhaust, just keep in mind the camera quality might not do an exhaust true justice

I have the Tanabe and it has an awesome note, but its pretty tame compared to some of the other options and I think i want something more aggressive. Just do some searches and try to hear a few in person to decide what you really want.

borla offers a deep tone, not necessarily in your face loud, but noticeable. also, the racing beat rev8 is supposedly an exhaust that sounds stock until you get on it, if you're looking to be kind of subtle

im leaning towards more noticable than subtle, so ill be looking into borla no doubt, im just gonna try to get a lot of different angles on this before i go after it

have u decided on what u actually want?
do u want something that is off the shelf (aftermarket exhaust)?
do u want the fastest?
do u want the loudest?

^As far as i know. Hp gain is really minimal and not much of a difference between other exhausts. Unless going catless which still is not a very noticeable gain. Soo if your in this for "fastest" or hp gain per say. Your going to be very disappointed.

borla+ BHR midpipe. or just Borla alone would be a nice, throatier, louder sound. Thats just my 2 cents. Depends on how loud you want to go. Theres plenty of very loud exhausts out there (louder than Borla).

power and loud?
hehez...

Then go for the single sided HKS exhaust... or since u are on a budget, u may also want to check out raceroots as they are offering something similar at a cheaper price...

Yeah this subject has been beaten to death but I'm not going to flame. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf for the new year. I would'nt go with the HKS, visually I think it just makes the car look unbalanced. Obviously, this is just my opinion. I like the duals. I have the GReddy SE with a high flow cat and love the tone. I also shoot flames at will.

But...
Making a car annoyingly loud while still being slow never gets old!

I was faced with the same dilemma as you. Wanted decent sound, not too loud, and didn't want to spend a lot of money especially since aftermarket exhaust components don't add much power to the RX8. I ultimately decided on the Agency Power midpipe. Added a bit a sound (deeper with a slightly raspy midrange), wasn't obnoxiously loud (good since VA cops hate loud cars here), and I spent barely over $200. I spent time looking into cat-backs but I decided they were too much money for not a lot of benefits. And a mid-pipe will get you a lot more power than a cat-back.

Are you really in Honduras? Awesome.

Here is a Racing Beat Header, Custom 3" midpipe with Davesport CAT, and BHR Resonator, and the Racing Beat REV8 dual with tips pointing down.
