ON Which Exhaust sounds best?

Im looking at these 3, which ones look, sound, and dont burn the plastic?

1) B&B Catback Exhaust
2) HKS Legmax Catback Exhaust
3) Exoticspeed S1-T Catback Exhaust

If anyone lives in the area, can we meet up so I can have a listen???

I like my HKS Hi-Power. It has a nice deep tone, and you can keep it quiet if you're light on the gas. I chose it after listening to a lot of audio clips. Just my own suggestion.

A little while back I was thinking about doing a set up with the HKS hi-power, and using an electric cutout valve to run to the other side for a straight pipe dump.

That way you could have the single exhaust hi-power, still have two tips, and if you wanted to track it, or **** off your neighbors, you could open up the straight pipe on the other side.

I second the HKS Hi-power as the best sounding exhaust for this car, but the Borla is nice too if you want/need dual tip.

What about the Exotic Speed R1-T? I haven't heard the S1 but the R1 sounds amazing. It's a midrange tone vs. the deep rumble of most of the other exhausts.

I've had the Racing Beat on my car, then switched to the Agency Power. Downside to the AP is the single wall titanium tips... i would rather have my stainless tips back, but the sound is amazing.

I've driven the HKS hi-power before, its really nice, but that empty hole on the passenger side looks so bad.

Also driven the Borla.. very nice also, a good rumble.

I'd go with the Borla personally. But I don't know much about the BB or exoticspeed.

So. . . umm, nothing on your list, actually.

I went with the Magnaflow exhaust. Looks good...sounds perfect. It really screams at 8k rpms and can keep it quiet at 4k and under. It doesn't drown out the cabin noise at all under normal driving.

I know it wasn't on the list, but I'd think you want all things considered

i owned a b&b and switched to the agency power, the AP sounds much better IMO and doesn't burn plastic if you put it on right

If you're a baller:

JIC Titanium, Amuse Titan, and RE Amemiya Super Dolphin Tail are probably some of the best sounding exhausts for the RX8.

If you're on a budget and don't mind having some volume:

Agency Power w/ a resonated midpipe sounds pretty good. Exoticspeed R1-T is nice and all, but I don't know if I would consider that a budget exhaust. I also think the B&B exhaust with midpipe sounds phenomenal.

If you're on a budget and care about having a daily driveable car without the fear of getting a ticket:

Mazdaspeed V2 exhaust, RB dual exhaust, HKS legamax, and Greddy SE exhaust come to mind. I love my MS exhaust (except for the welds that broke.....which a nice TIG weld job should fix for good) simply because it's more of a grown-up sound. Mind you, I'm coming from a ITB'd car so any exhaust was pretty much quieter than my previous car.

I personally think it's quite easy to get the RX8 to sound absolutely fantastic or absolutely like garbage. I can't stand some of the weed-whacker-sounding setups.

I got the Racing Beat dual exhaust, Rev II, I think it's called. Very deep, growling tone like an old Austin-Healey--my all-time favorite. No weight savings vs. stock, but more hp and way better sound.

Stock exhaust is pretty heavy. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 lbs. I'm on the fence right now between Agency Power's full exhaust (dual res mid-pipe and catback) or just getting the BHR mid-pipe. As far as I can tell from the youtube videos they both sound great. The AP exhaust seems like the better deal (full exhaust), although I'm told it doesn't sound quite as nice as the BHR mid-pipe. Truth be told I'm just looking for the best power gains with a decent sound (not stupid loud). I know most of your gains from an exhaust upgrade come from the mid-pipe so if the BHR pipe offers similar gains to the AP full exhaust then suddenly BHR has the better deal.
