Exhaust Questions
Well I just purchased an '05 RX8 last Friday, and I absolutley love it!
I just have one complaint it is in desperate need of a deep throaty exhaust. I have been looking into the Racing Beat exhaust and think that may be a good one to go with.
Let me start off by saying I used to have a Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi with Long tube Headers and straight back exhaust so a loud exhaust doesnt really bother me but the drone drove me crazy on the long highway drives.
Does the racing beat exhaust drone a lot or is it just louder with minimal drone? Also if there any one has any advice on what other exhaust may be a good choice for me let me know thanks!

Exoticspeed R-1T is pretty deep and throaty

the racingbeat sounds good and has almost no drone, even when paired with a midpipe.
+1 if you're used to the noise than definitely throw in a midpipe too. headers are ehhh, if you think spending $500+ for minimal performance gains and sound are worth it

I would love some performance gains but I was under the impression that our cars are pretty much already tuned to the limit and any cat back system won't really net more than 3-5 horses.
I can't get rid of the cats because I go to school in the Saint Louis area where they have emissions testing.

Im not looking for an annoyingly loud car and I certainly dont want it to sound like a honda civic (not meaning to offend anyone). Ive heard video clips of the Racing beat and the Exoticspeed R1-t and I like them both Im rather torn and dont know which to get at this point, does any one know which has less drone at highway driving speeds?
Thanks!
Thanks!
i believe it may be racing beat...wouldnt know for sure though cause i havent had one...but there exhaust is pretty modest as far as sound goes. and i doubt that it would drone..
Put a 4" exhaust and our turbo kit on it and it will sound throatier..... :D
On a more serious note, I had the racing beat and it was nice when the car was not turboed but got as quiet as stock when I installed the turbo for the first time. I loved it until I put the turbo on. The HKS Hi-power is not only cheap but is also high quality and from a reputable brand if you can live with the single tip design(this is the one I had on with and without a turbo for a year or so until I switched to a full 4" custom). I've also heard the Agency power one and really like it and its dual tip, nicely finished....but costs 800.00.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Chris

^+1 for agency power. love it, loud as hell. $750 with the midpipe included, thats pretty cheap for a headerback. it does drone though.
it doesnt really matter what exhaust you go with if you keep the cat that will eliminate most of the droning. just get the racing beat, you're guaranteed to be happy with it
