Hi All:

Sooo many exhausts.

Can anyone point me in the right direction towards the higher quality stuff that:

a. provides as much weight reduction over stock as possible while
b. as much HP increase as possible and
c. as little sound as possible

I know c and b are competing items but the best should be able to deliver the largest "HP gain to sound gain(if any)" ratio. Staying with classy... avoiding Ghetto is my goal.

PS: I love the high revs of the rotary, if a muffler out there allows more HP while letting some high pitch "scream" or jet engine like whirr (as opposed to meatier sounds) I probably would really like it. Im thinking of my friends' Kawasaki zx-6rr sportbike which redlines at 16k or so...

Any help would greatly be appreciated!!!

the new Mazdaspeed dual muffler design is a nice option...it is much lighter than stock and provides a great sound under cruise, and aggressive sound at WOT.

I have Racing Beat, the sound is subtle, well matched to the engine...but it is heavier than stock. I've been contemplating a switch to the new Madzaspeed exhaust.

It has been stated on this thread, as well as other places, that the Mazdaspeed design is not unique, it is actually a copy of several other exhausts that were available initially when the first batch of aftermarket exhausts came out.

Go check out the racing beat website. They have a good read on all the analysis they've done on the exhaust system. There is not much to be had with just a cat back exahaust.

youtube.com.

Search for racing beat rx8, and one should pop up. It is dark outside with snow on the ground. Someone is showing off their flames.

Hi everyone. I am currently deciding between two exhaust systems. They are the Autoexe Sport Muffler and the Corksport exhaust system.

Is the Autoexe a catback system?

Which one have you heard the most positive feedback about?

Also, could someone possibly find me a website that sells the Autoexe for less than $900 that is not a replica.

Thanks. Any info would be appreciated.

I am also curious about the rx8 HKS legamax (spelling?) exhaust, the dual exhaust one, it's kinda a toss up, i hear exhaust isn't a huge deal on the rx8 (i guess rotary changes the rules about some things) but i've also heard some exhaust like the srmotorsports exhaust has problems if you add a turbo to your car. So any info on primarily the HKS, Tanabe, or MazdaSpeed Exhaust would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

The legamax is a very nice sounding exhaust. It's quieter than the borla, but that's not to say that it is quiet. The borla is deper sounding however.
