Which exhaust...

Racing Beat? Borla? Greddy? I'm looking for the best sound, don't really care about the performance increase. The RB looks great, but is it really loud enough? How do the other two compare, searching sucks.. couldn't find jack. Any personal experiences?

Best sound? TRUST Ti R for RX8.
Performance? Amemiya, R-Magic etc.

Racing Beat is quiet. I'm thinking about getting the rp supercat to make a lil more noise.

The RB exhaust and RP supercat is a great combination. After hearing the Rotary Extreme Helix exhaust, I have to say that is one of the best sounding so far. It sounds like an exhaust from an exotic car.

I have heard the Borla and Racing Beat in person, and then opted to buy the Greddy as I wanted a more aggressive sound. I absolutely love it... I've been told it sounds like an exotic when I rev to 9k rpm driving off. Driving next to walls or under overpasses at 9k rpm with the windows down it sounds like a F1 racecar. I love the sound so much I drive around with my sunroof open during the winter just to let more of the rotary music in .

Next weekend I'm going to risk this perfection as I'm installing the RP high flow cat... hopefully it won't be too loud or too raspy.

^I've heard that combo in person, and it is quite loud, but to each their own.

I figure I'll try it out for a few weeks, then have an inline silencer welded in if necessary. Since the third kid was born last year, the 8 is strictly my toy and not used with the family much... hence me pushing the sound envelope with these mods .

I have the RP supercat and am putting on the Tanabe Medallion exhaust next week...I went with the Tanabe because from what I've seen it's one of the quieter systems and didn't want to be too loud.

G8'r, we'll have to get our two cars together to compare after we get our exhausts finished...

You got it... the Tanabe looks like a quality unit. You still happy with your Supercat after a year? I can't remember... did you get a hanger welded on or just run without it?

Very happy with it. And yeah, I had to get a hanger welded on.

Haven't seen the Tanabe unit yet, supposed to get it in the mail today. I'd install it this weekend but I'll be in Jax watching the NCAA games...UF as a matter of fact...

You lucky bastard! Have fun... wish I could be there. Ironically, the added workload from my UF MBA program is what is prohibiting me from going down there to cheer on my Gators.

if you search for sound clips you can probably find a lot of good samples from the board.
