exhaust

I am looking to replace the exhaust on my 8, and I am kinda partial to the sound of a straight exhaust...no muffler. my only concern is: will the lack of back pressure hurt the engine any? I generally know my facts about engines, but the rotary is another story. Im not sure what the back pressure should be on it. I know that it will most likely have some backfire, and I am perfectly fine with that...I just dont want to cause any extensive damage to the engine. so if someone could give me some input to my question that would be great! thanks alot to everyone that helps me!

well, thanks for the attempt for help, but that doesnt really answer my question...my question was(down to basics) will a straight exhaust(removing the stock muffler and replacing it with a Ypipe be too little back pressure.

The first link in what he gave you talked about straight pipes and back pressure with the rotary, so re-read some of the stuff google brings up.

Straight piping a rotary motor would be VERY loud! there is a kid about a mile away from me and i'm pretty sure he's straight pipin' because I can hear him leave his house. It might get you unwanted attention from Johnny Law
