Espelir Exhaust Install

Ok..Even though it was raining outside and I started at 21:30 I installed the exhaust Tuesday night. Sorry that the pics are kind of nasty due to the inclement weather but it gives the idea of what has taken place, just disregard the uncleanliness...

The exhaust was perfectly done, all welds were properly done, the craftsmanship of the unit was flawless... All the hangers and bolt holes lined up perfectly so I didn't have to mod anything. The kit came with all necessary gaskets and bolts even had the mount hole for the grounding strap. All of the following pictures were taken at night in my shop...as soon as the sun decides to show itself again I will have brighter daytime pics...also if anyone would like any particular picture of the exhaust please PM me and I will send you a full size shot...also any shots posted here if you want a higher res pic let me know...these were all taken with a Sony DSC-F828 but in order to comply with the forum size limits i had to cut down the quality and size.

Most have seen the stock pipe but i'll show it again anyway...as a comparison..

Weight savings are minimal...i didn't actually weigh the Espelir but judging from picking both up there did not seem to be anything worth getting all excited over..but that's not my concern...exhaust weight savings are so minimal they're impertinent.

A quick note..for those about to do a install on an exhaust...i haven't seen this posted but have seen the headaches discussed about their removal...if you mix a spray bottle with dish soap(dawn) and water...spray your hangers with the mix and walla!..rubber mounts slide right off the hangers...

so here go the pics...

P.S. I will be doing a write up for VRSM and sound clips and vids will be available soon as well...

I've never heard of Espelir, where are they from, or where can they be purchased?

Oh can't forget...Props to Dan at VividRacing for hooking me up...the exhaust note is fantastic...it's supposed to clear up weather wise here this weekend so I will be able to wash and get the photos finished and sound clips...I should have the TEIN's installed as well...so I'll have pics of all that good stuff coming..

I won't have the vid till after Nov 5...got something cool planned while i'm in ATL...

i assume the new exhaust came with new rubber mounts? and are they as hard to put on as they are to take off?

Snoochie...I got it for <$600..not sure if I can disclose the actual amount since I am doing a write up for VividRacing and I got a discount for doing so...

RX-GR8...I don't know of any exhaust that comes with new rubber mounts...if you use the dawn/water mix goes on easier than taking off..and they really come off easily...

Espelir must be Japanese for "Hymee". The resemblance is uncanny.

They sound great. I love mine.

I'm going to get a vid of the car done while i'm in atlanta on business for a week...i have some ideas of some cool things to capture the essense (man..i sound like Emeril) of the exhaust and RX-8 in action...I should have that after next week...

I can go ahead and capture the exhaust sound clip for those with high anxiety...i'll get a sound byte tonight...

NO NO NO...WD-40 or any petroleum based lubricant will deteriorate the rubber on the hangers...making them brittle...that's why you need to use soap and water...

I am most likely going to purchase a 8 in a few weeks, and cant decide if I should buy the espiliar exaust or the racing beat one. Both of the exausts look really nice.
