Both are essentially the same. Can be programmed to change your air fuel ratio to lean out the mixture or richen it. The Canzoomer unit has the basic RX8 setup & is programmed to lean it out a bit to get more hp. The E Manage does not have that basic information, and would need to be programmed in from basically nothing. Greddy does give you an E Manage unit with their turbo kit, but that is set specifically to change the air/fuel mixture for a turboed RX8, not a standard normally aspirated RX8.

E-manage is great once you get a shop (or buy it yourself) with the datalogit and laptop software - it gives access to 16x16 maps for a lot more accuracy - ALSO - the e-manage can be hooked up to injector and ignition harnesses - going NA, I would only get the ignition harness - this again can be accessed through the datalogit 16x16 map to change timing, giving you optimized horsepower. Consider that the e-manage is dirt cheap as well, and its a no brainer.

they are the same thing... the CZ however is repackaged for easier concealed mounting, comes with the optional timing advance harnass, gives you a good place to start tuning (yea, you could look on this forum and find some maps but your going to have to change the rpm scales and values from a positive to a negative value), and there is no need for wire splicing or time spent setting the unit up (however, i guess greddy now has a nice harness fromt he turbo package).

1) The e-manage ( which IS what we use in our box) does not hook up to the ignition circuit and coils. If you do it it will not work.
We add a circuit board to "massage" the ignition signalling to be compatible.
2) A switch. We provide a small switch on the side of the box to turn it on/off. Guess what happens if you are in Podunkville and can only buy regualr gas? You get to remove your Greddy box is what happens.
3) Support. Yes, I have not been posting here lately. But call or email and we support it. Greddy does not. At all.
4) Plug and play. Our unit fits.
5) We sell the cable to allow you to tune it. So do Greddy, at twice the price, and serial only. Ours is USB Plug n Play.
6) CANSCAN tuning. We worked with Dan Harrison to develop a version of the CANSCAN unit to allow one to get accurate data logging for tuning. NOT the same as the stock CANSCAN, as that lacks the calibrated AFR readings the RX-8 version has built in.
7) I own and drive an RX-8. All of us involved in our products drive rotaries.
We sell what works, not bullshit like cat-backs that claim to make 20HP.
We make a piggyback that works, a midpipe that works AND passes smog tests, and we sell JSPEC parts that are not over here. We test and use what we sell.

Hey Maurice, question about the canzoomer as opposed to the Emanage that sells with the GReddy turbo kit. Is there anything about the Canzoomer unit that would make it less applicable to a turbo or supercharger kit? I know GReddy included a wiring harness which provided some of the plug n play aspects but I'm not sure if there is anything else different about the one in the turbo kit.

actually maurice, i believe the newer emanage units come with a wiring harness and function properly with the ignition system. at least the turbo kit ones do.
CZ is the way to go for sure if you're going NA or are not planning on using the greddy turbo kit.

Epi, you are thinking along the same lines that I am-since Greddy offers the ignition harness I am assuming(?) that there is now a proper interface to adjust the ignition timing using the E-Man. I hope so because I plan on using two maps for the turbo/nitrous hybrid set up. I'll use a tweaked version of the first map for the best turbo-only performance and the second map will be identical to the first except above 4k rpm, where there will be the proper reduction in ignition advance to accomodate whatever level of nitrous I wish to use. With a piggyback unit that is about as simple as I can think for the system to operate.

there may be hardward or firmware changes inside the newer emanages...i'm not sure.
if worst comes to worst, buy a new emanage from greddy...assuming you wont be using their turbo kit.
