Easiest mods for more power?

Hey guys, picked up an 05 rx8 couple weeks ago, and unfortunatly I got the auto : / wish I couldve gotten the manual but whats done is done. It seems like it really has no pull after 3k rpms unless I get it all the way up to about 6k.

Can anyone tell me some easy mods for more power (or possibly better mileage? I already have a KNN air filter. I was wondering what mods were able to be done by the average joe that would give it some extra power.

Would a turbo be a good performance upgrade that wouldnt sacrafice gas mileage?

Easy mods include some weight reduction, intake, and exhaust. For example, if you went with an HKS Hi-Powered single exit exhaust, you could gain some hp/trq as well as drop some weight.

As far as turbo'ing your vehicle... it's a complete waste in an auto to be honest. If you plan on modding an RX8, eventually you should sell the auto and pick up a stick.

It sounds like you have a few issues in addition to your question. Try starting here: https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/new-potential-owners-start-here-202454/

No, bolts on parts will yield you very little. Turbo will kill you gas mileage, but a turbo auto will be faster than a 6spd 8

The turbo will rape your MPG so if that is a problem for you then i would steer clear, and like Vince said if you want to do something along the lines of boost then you should sell the 05 AT, atleast if it wasthe 06+ it would be a 6 speed automatic rather than the 04-05 which is only a 4 speed auto.

For now just go for exhaust and a cat delete midpipe. If you already have the K&N drop in filter theirs no need for an intake unless you want the sound from it. They dont do much for performance to be honest.

A turbo won't "rape" your gas mileage. If its tuned right, you shouldn't notice a change in mpg while cruising. Obviously if you floor it you'll be dumping more fuel than if you were NA, but you can't complain about that. A mid-pipe, custom tune, and BHR ignition coils are pretty much all that will give you good gains.

It works if you type "sarcasm" in as keyword.
