im not focusing on the intake. no where in this thread did i mention the intake port... i already did my exhaust on two different plates two different ways. both styles i did seem to be a big improvement, but havnt been ran yet, so who knows? i wouldnt call either road worthy.

lol.
Why do you guys care? People still drag race their 16 second hondas. Why don't you get it, people do this for fun and see how fast it is. It's just a different way of going fast and timing your own car.

BTW, I actually want to see how this turns out.

you took what i said wrong. there is no way to label a car a "drift car". anything with rear tires spinning can slide. but no car from the factory is designed as a drag, road race, drift, ect... theres rx7's that run rally. rod millen. yes super ausie drifters father...

calm down. no ones attacking the rx8. its all rotary love.

^+1.... Good Luck in what you are doing... and I wasnt taking anything the wrong way.... i didnt take your comment as an attack the RX8- I just didnt really know if you knew that there was DRIFTING RX8's or not... because it seems to me that you came from the RX7club.com forum... and many there hate the RX8.... Ive seen such "hate" at SEVENSTOCK this year... in IRVINE, CA from the SEVEN guys... but once again GOOD LUCK!

^true...... I think the renesis should do fine if not better in this body, hmm I GUESS I have to wait to see the finish product but like I mentioned before, the 4 port renesis, IMO, is capable of producing HP #'s up to 275-305. Hope everything goes well.

I knew this guy that worked as an assitant in a rotary shop here in Orlando. He did a lot of porting on motorcycle heads too. He would buy heads and then cut them in half at the runners to see how much room there is to port. i kinda did the same, without cutting it in half part...

you're wasting time and money trying to use thermosteel putty in the exhaust ports

thanks for the tip, but i wasnt going to use that in this motor. that was for an old 13b with per. exhaust ports.

but i already scrapped that plan to shape a exhaust sleeve area with getting a sleeve machined from aluminum.

how can you hold a gear too long? unless you mean you ran into the rev limiter.

I like the Idea, and believe you might develop or learn something that we can all benefit from.

Good Luck, and keep us updated.

interesting project. putting a renesis into an rx7 i bet the seven guys are all like "its blasphemy!!!" Kinda reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, 2 families one marriage of engine and chassis will join both families together .... but then again that story didn't end well. Good luck looking forward to the result.
