That's my car, what do you mean too short?

That's a full pic of the intake installed. There are no extra parts needed for piping or couplers. All you need, that most (if not all) people that get the AEM have been missing from their kit is a vacuum cap to plug a nipple after the stock stuff is removed.

They recently changed their filter design I think, maybe that's why.

A few people have said you can get the filter off without taking the bumper off. However the piping you cannot, that's why the bumper needs to be removed for install. You just gotta take the cooling panels on top, or maybe bottom not sure which way is easiest, and reach in to take the filter off.

No actually it has good air flow, and it pretty much has the same results as the Racingbeat REVi intake w/ duct..... No need for bypass valve because the filter is about 3 ft off the ground!! for there to be any engine damage the filter needs to be fully submerged, but you have to be an idiot to drive into 3 ft or more of water...... plus the dealer has said that if you add bypass valves and start tampering with the stock valves and tubes, piping that your warranty would be void.....

I don't think I've seen one person that HAS gotten it with their kit. I just used one I had extra laying around.

Uh well what'd you do with the vacuum line that used to be hooked up to it? You had to remove that piece for the installation, and unless you have something covering that nipple you'll have a vac leak.

well my good friend who works at a mazda dealership and I basically installed it, and I'm not sure if we removed the vac line.... but basically nothing has happened :knock on wood:... maybe its not entirely necessary? on his old 8 he had the AEM then went with REVI w/duct and he didn't have to put the vac cap on... hmmm

Not having that thing capped woudl cause a vaccum leak. That coudl lead to the engine running lean. Definitly not a good thing.
