If your not feeling it thats cool, thats why I like forums, we can discuss things and express on our opinions. hell part of modding cars is learning from mistakes. I think most of us have done mods on our cars that we regret. We learn from our experiences.

At a track day I could care less what it sounds like since there are a large number of loud *** track cars buzzing around. There was a black Turbo 8 here in San Antonio that ran mid 13's in the 1/4. He came out to an AutoX and got owned by our local stig who drives a WB RX8. He was disappointed so he asked the owner of the WB to drive his car for two runs and while the owner of the WB was faster in the turbo car than its owner was, his runs were not as quick as they were in his NA RX8. He said the turbo cars power band was all over the place and power was hard to predict. Cars should be built for purpose and I would rather have a slower car that is good all around than a car that is fast in only one thing.
It sounds to me like that particular turbo 8 needs a truckload of tuning to get sorted out.

^nah, if it was running 13's in the quarter mile, it's probably fine....experience with a turbo setup on an auto-x track is key.

i'll let you guys discuss....
byw, this was done at fast freddies (aka rotary reliability) in santa ana, ca.

So his dyno gain was showing the cutout after the CAT. Imagine what the gain would be if it was before the CAT.

Trial and error, I had to extend the pipe a little and add a dump tip to channel the flame down.

this is so cool. i kinda want to do this. i like the option of being really loud at times and being really quite at others. plus, its cheaper than a full cat back exhaust.
ninjatrader, did you put it before the cat?

my old roommates M3 has this built into his very expensive exhaust its not a cheap ebay mod. Its a mod for people that want to roll on the track put down the wicked times then go home without having to worry about cops.

It makes perfect sense you wan an extra +10 hp for a few minutes bang right there if it gets to loud you can shut it up. However if you slap on a cat less midpipe you are stuck with that loud noise until you put the stock cat back on.

I would love to have one of these but i cant justify spending money on mods right now.
