That's where mine is currently - North of the border. I'm having the ignition circuit corrected. This sounds like the untuned - incorrect ignition scenario.

It is a bit much to keep sending it back and forth, the only person who can fix the issue is in canada and I am in Scotland. Do you know that i'll probably be hit for tax everytime the thing is shipped back and forth.

there's no tax if you write customs off saying it's a "gift."

then they can't tax you or charge you... from what i hear.

i currently bought a cz1.1 with 2.0 map from OD- so i'll post the results here... Butt dyno of course~!

PLAN B:

Find a kindred spirit in the UK who has a CanScan (or a CZ that you can temporaily install) and wants to get together for a few snorts of Jameson (or one of the "Glens") complements of you. You can talk shop and do a little investigative work, too. That'd be one way to see if you really need to send it back across the pond.

I have everything needed to tune the damn thing. I got the stage 3 with the controller and everything.

The problem stems back to the 20hp loss even on a 0 map.

If the unit cannot mimic the stock ecu then how the hell am I meant to tune it. abosuletly no starting point.

Look at my dyno the two maps even look dissimilar. looks like two differnet engines.

mcpheeg,

I had a similar problem when I first installed the Canzoomer. I had no power in lower revs, below 5,000 and it lugged like crazy. I couldn't outrun a Civic with it on. After I snipped the two capacitors the performance improved immediately. I have not dynoed the car, but I can now tell a positive difference with it on vs off.

Here goes everything

Well just to keep those interested few up-to-date.
I have just taken out the unichip which gave me an extra 7HP at max revs. I do have the dyno for this and will post it after I have done all the comparisons.
The canzoomer with the caps clipped off, "Ignition mod", has been reinstalled.
Instead of the original canzoomer map, I have used a map that was posted by prOber. This map is located in the canzoomer venders forum.
Hopefully, on Friday, using the same dyno, I will have a power run done on the car to see what it is producing.
This is fast becoming on of the most expensive mods that I have ever done to a car.
If the canzoomer can give me around 220HP at the flywheel I will have to call it a success.
If it can't well the results will be posted no matter what.
Just for the record the unichip dynoed at 227HP at the flywheel, bearing in mind the cat was removed and replaced with a decat pipe.
This time round, the header has been upgraded, a high flow cat will be used, a more free flowing air filter has been added.
Fingers crossed.
Hopefully this will prove once and for all if the unit works or not.
Any further suggestions will be greatly appreciated before I go for the run.
The map I am using can be seen here
He is boasting a 10-20HP gain with this map.

Probers map

Well hit a small stumbling block already, the cars mil has came on. Don't know if this is due to probers map or not. Wondering PrOber have you had this problem with your map???
I am running 95 octane just for the record.
That is all I can get my hands on here in Scotland.
95 or 98 thats all we can get across here.
Car is definetly getting dynoed tomorrow morning booked in at 08:30 BST.
Watch this post for results.
May I just add that after running the car for about a day with the new ign mod and map installed, I was more pleased with this unit than before.
Will edit the post some time today to tell what errors have been thrown up. As long as I get the use of a laptop.

To all who are interested in my input to this thread. I have decided to move this back into the canzoomers place. Please see UK spec Car with Canzoomer.
