Custom Turbo interest?

I'm testing the water to find out how many RX-8 folks would seriously consider an aftermarket custom turbo for their RX-8.

I have been in contact with an Arizona peformance shop with a project turbo for the RX-8.

Currently I understand that it will be a "lower" boost system and will operate off of an e-manage.

Dyno's and numbers are a ways off but if interest is enough, they mentioned that they might be interested in offering a kit rather than just custom items (their current mainstay of business). I'm trying to convince them that a kit would go over well among the RX-8 community and I'm personally hoping that it will allow them to cut down their current price they are quoting me. Just thoughts...although I'm getting my asbestos suit on and hanging on tight to my fire extinguisher :D

Me, among a decent number of people. With this engine I'd rather stay N/A until the warranty is over and go with a supercharger at that time... unless a mazda supported option comes out...

BUT... don't let that discourage you. There are also plenty of people who are dying to get FI for their 8. They want it now and screw the warranty. So yeah... you probably can pick up another 4 or 5 people to be on the conservative side.

<----- Dying for FI on his 8. Just wish SSR would sell their damn kit without a black box for a piggyback. (No More black boxes for me). I need the whiplash that you get in a 3rd Gen when you stomp on the gas.

I am going to turbo mine but I am going to use CZ's Stage 3 kit when I get it next year. The E-Manage is nice but I don't want to do my own tuning right now and I am not going to be financially ready for the turbo this year. I have other plans for that money right now.

93rdcurrent,

I'm not a tuner myself. I intend to have someone with a lot more knowhow than me do it but the emanage is what they were talking of using. I would have to bug maniac and rotarygod for weeks on end to even begin to understand half of what they are talking about in the more technical threads. I do know that I'd like some more 'zoom' in my 8 and I'm just floating ideas around to see what people have to say. If the Stage 3 was out then that would definately be something for me to consider. I'll just have to wait and see how soon that's going to be.
