Cleaning AEM CAI filter

Ok so excuse me if this isn't the correct forum to post this, but I'm taking a shot. I did a quick search on how to get the filter for the AEM CAI out to clean it and all I could find was "it's a bit annoying"...

So with that being said... how do I get the filter out... and please don't say the same way I got it in... can i remove the plastic shield/cover underneath to slip it out? There has to be some logic to removing it... then again it was easily to send up the space shuttle than it was replacing the front blinkers and parking lights...

yeah you have to remove the bolts underneath and then you can unscrew the fastener that is holding the filter to the intake tube. After you're done cleaning it just put it back on and then screw the bolts back in.

to be honest i really don't know. I usually clean it the way I described. I'm sure you could ask AEM for any pointers.

I've cleaned it twice already. I like to clean it every 20,000 Miles, but each owner is different.. Also ask Lurch519 on this forum, he was the first to get the intake and he has numerous posts about the intake, and I think there was some posts about how to clean it and when he cleans it. Give him a PM and he'll let you know all the details. He's really good about giving advice.

Can I still remove the undertray if I have the OEM front air-dam installed? Is it just a few screws still?

No problems with just removing the undertray to get to the filter.
I did it that way when I had an AEM... easier than removing the front bumper.
