Catless Downpipe Install. HELP!

So I went to install my catless downpipe last night. But I couldn't get off one of the nuts on the gasket. The top one on the side of the downpipe that has three screws, the side on the opposite side of the midpipe. I'm wondering if there was something I was supposed to do, because it felt as if the nut had like melted into the gasket because of the heat from the cat. Any help would be nice, if all else fails, local performance shop.

Thanks guys

It took me about an hour to get those off of my 04 about 2 months ago. I was taking off the stock cat so those biotches were siezed in a good bit. You just gatta put some *** into it. I used a pipe on the end of my rachet for more torque. If you havn't tried that, then give that a try. I also had only the passenger side jacked up on blocks so I had more room to work.

yeah, just break it, that would be easier. that bolt was a pain to deal with, eventually with enough force it came off on mine

This reminds me about why my car is so great. I change exhausts bi-monthly. All the bolts come off with barely any effort. The exhaust hangers are smooth like butter.

It was a bitch to get the cat off the first time though.

So i guess one of the bolts was welded and the other was frozen on. This car is on its second cat, the owner before got his changed under warranty. Anyway, I got the new downpipe put on for $50 at a local shop today. Sooooo loud haha

As long as you have the gaskets, you are good to go. Everything is bolt on for the exhaust.
