Car is running like ****

Ever since the R flash, car has been running very rich. I am running 7 lbs boost which is not a problem- car runs great when turbo is kicks in - but on the open road at speeds of 80 mph+ it runs so rich that my A/F gauge does not read anything which means I am at 10 or lower. Today when this happeded the car started to pop and or misfire on and off. Don't know if colder plugs have any effect, but wtf to do ? My exhaust tips are black and filthy every day. HELP !

IMO : Its not that the R flash made the car richer, the ECU in the car is chaning the A/F ratio to how it thinks it should be, this is pretty common for a lot of the cars running the greddy Emanage

Of course the new flash will have an effect on the resulting AFR when he is under boost if he hasn't tuned the emanage maps to the new flash.

RX8FOREAL - are you under boost at 80mph when this happens? If I recall, 80mph is about 4kRPM. When I went under boost at in 5-6th gears at 4kRPM I was REALLY lean, like 17. BUT, I am on the M flash. Another member with the R flash reports being really rich there like you. What turbo map are you running? Have you tried tuning it?

I just talked to GReddy. They are aware that the R flash doesn't interact that well with the kit. It looks like they are going to develop another map for the R flash. But, they say that you can tune to it yourself.

When the very rich condition takes place at 80 and over I am not under boost. The car runns great when under boost, I think partially because it is so much richer there is more room for boost and to get more lean. Even though I have manually raised boost from 5 to 7.5 lbs. I have not tried to tune the Emanage because I would not know where to start and the people who installed my turbo and Emange haters and continue to say to wait for something like the microtech or interceptor before attemping to tune.

Do you have a scan tool? Maybe you should check the fuel trims while under those rich conditions.

Same problem being rich with the 'R' flash here too. It's better than being lean though. Plus a ran a 8.7 1/8 mile at 4psi on this flash...Is that bad?

8.7 fortnights?

That would have to be almost 200mph!

I don't understand your post. What are you saying?

You won't find ANY posts praising the combination of R flash + GReddy turbo!
