this is my first post... i did do the search BTW. i was wondering i you could effectively install a BOV w/o turbo? i just love the sound that they make... this might be a stupid question but i'm just unsure how they work!? thanks for your hopefully positive advice! hehe

 

No, you need positive pressure.

hay guys you wanna hear a story. i was at the school library one day. then one of these taiwanese jerks came walking by and sit besides me. i was reading motor trends. anyway, he knew that i have a 8. he goes like "do you have anything done with it" i said "no. stock."
then all of a sudden he said, "Get a blow off valve. they sound so good."
that kind of put me into confusion. how can i blow with no pressure?? i told him that i have no turbos. he replied "still get a blow off valve. they are so cool."
i was just stunned and didn't even want to explain to this dumb head.

if you don't want to get one of the electronic BOV, you could always just make the psssssshhhh noise yourself

 

what about the spinner exhaust too?

nothing like liking something that has absolutely no purpose on a car without a turbo. if you like the sound that much, just yell out 'psssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh' after every shift.
