BHR Midpipe + What catback?

Well from what i read, the BHR midpipe is the best at removing rasp. I will be buying the non cat version. Now i want a cat back that does not allow any rasp through either.

I like loud but i don't like ear piercing rasp if that makes sense. Just a smooth rounded tone and a little bit of a scream at really high rpm's would be perfect.

I also want a dual system. Also would headers help get this sound?

Most of the cat-backs are pretty rasp free on their own. A lot of the rasp comes from the midpipe, but you should be safe with the BHR unit. Headers would more than likely add some rasp.

Since you want dual tips, I'd say go with the borla. Borla + BHR mp sounds incredible.

are there any real performance gains from headers vs the stock manifold? Borla exhausts sound good, i have had them on other cars, but they seem to produce a lot of cabin drone. Is that the case with the RX8?

the mazdaspeed one has a nice sound, not really loud and doesn't drone.

From what others say, it has a similar note to the borla system. I am going to try to find some HQ videos of them, i wish people around here had these exhausts.

I have the Hymee and it has a really sweet tone throughout the revs. The BHR pipe doesn't really change the tone of the exhausts as much as other pipes do. So you have to find an exhaust that you like then mate the pipe to it. I know MySQL had rasp with his Borla even with a turbo splitting the system. He also had a shitty midpipe at the time so that could have been the cause.

If i had to put the sound into words it would be deep and not too loud at low load. When the pedal is to the medal it screams loudly but does not produce the ear peircing type of rasp.

that exhaust is almost perfect (i know the sound of the engine is different). if youu go to 0:38 on that video you'll hear the engine screaming and maybe provide i small amount of rasp which is ok. The rasp i don't like is what you hear on cheap civic exhausts that literally stab you in the ears.

With this genesis its perfect except i would like a little more quietness at low load.

idk if this helps anyone, but i have no access to these exhaust except youtube.

Well after a lot of thought and research i decided to get the mazdaspeed catback. Basically it seems the sound of the mazda speed exhaust is a lot smoother than the sound of the borla.

The mazdaspeed is still aggressive but isn't as sharp if that makes sense, also the mid pipe should bring out the sound very well.

So quick question, a borla and midpipe will backfire, will the mazdaspeed do that?

Ok well does it only happen after letting off at high rpm's. There are some situations that i would not want a backfire.

It depends mostly on the tune you're on. It's hard to backfire when cruising.

yea from what i see on youtube it seems that it mostly happens when shifting with the pedal to the floor to reving to 9k and letting off.

i guess ill see what its like when it gets here.

Also what size is the rx8 stock exhaust? the BHR midpipe is 3" but are the stock headers and mazdaspeed exhaust 3"?
