BHR Midpipe

The hope is to actually see if the catted version will pass emissions with a sniffer test. Nothing is for sure at this moment but I'm hoping the team can reach out to local contacts and find a shop or emissions site that we can utilize to have the car tested. I'm unsure what the state regulations are for cars that are still tagged but fail emissions would be. So, that being said I don't want to get myself into a situation where I have to deal with that nonsense.
I talked with Ray the other evening about this and it doesn't make much sense for us to offer a catted version unless we know that it will pass some kind of emissions standards. We can't account for everything but if it passes here in Arizona then that's enough for us to have confidence in it. Right now the question is will it last with the high EGT's and the massive amounts of oil that I run in my car.
Grats guys on finishing up the midpipe and throwing it into full scale production.
The addition of that DaveSport cat is a great idea and now caters to just about anyone.
can't wait to hear this in person at SevenStock but I'm sure these will be flying off the shelves in the mean time so there's bound to be user comments / videos posted by then

I posed the question to Ray in PM, but figured I would ask here. I am not opting for polishing, I generally don't see the point unless I am going to spend alot of time showing the under-side. With the salt of winter and stuff up here though, I DO want to protect the pipe from rust. Given exhaust heat though, I suspect I can't just grab a can of latex wall paint... (that's a joke)
What are my options? (any muted color is just fine with me, I don't need a glistening red pipe that will just get coated with road crap anyway)

It actually doesn't look to bad and it keeps way cool.
To clean it just spray it with low pressure water.
shinka evo: depending on the state you live in, you might still fail the visual inspection (if there is such a thing where you live)
here in CA, anything short of the OEM cat pretty much guarantees you'll fail the visual.

We have finished the detail work on our midpipe and verificatrion of the durability of the resonator we are using. Suffice it to say I am willing to place as much of my personal reputation behind this midpipe as I have done with the BHR Ignition System. I also honestly believe that the BHR Midpipe will set new standards and create new paradigms by which all other midpipes will be judged. That has always been our self-imposed standard and we have, once again, nailed it (in our own opinions).

There has been a lot of information in this thread. There are a few reviews of the earlier version which I'd encourage you to look over if you're unsure if this midpipe is something you want to add to your short list.

I also posted my initial review of our prototype midpipe on the first post of this thread.
This midpipe embodies the concept of having your cake and eating it too. You get all the benefits from having removed the stock exhaust with none of the drawbacks such as buzzy, raspy sound or very loud exhaust tones.
I'm sure I speak for everyone at BHR by saying thank you to everyone for your patience with this product. I'm confident you will not be disappointed.
