sorry haven't updated this thread in awhile. anyway i fixed the clutch master cylinder. easy fix, 80 bucks thou. The car seems to have settled in. i redid the steps of how to put in the ppf in. charles was very helpful with explaining why this was important. its now been about a month and i still have some noise when the clutch engages. I just don't understand what it would be. the car drives fine, the clutch does not feel like its slipping and engagement is very smooth. its a very strange sound like a high sqeaking rubbing type noise. very odd. i can make it go away buy revving higher when i engage the clutch. any ideas..............i have had no time to work on this myself and might have to take it to a shop.

OVerall though is the car any faster? I'm thinking in buying a flywheel, but I wanted to know if there was a real difference right off the bat.

Congrats on getting it fixed though Finally it's been MOSTLY sorted out.

EDIT: Make a video of the sound so that people can get a better idea of what could be the real problem so that they can help you.

yes it did make the car quicker but i wouldnt say all of the sudden you will beat anything out there. and if you were going to pay the money to have a shop install it im not sure its worth it. but i did it myself and yes it is. i really think to get what i want out of the car i'm going to look into some sort of FI. but thats an area i know nothing about. there is loads of info on here about the topic but it can be overwelming and everyone has their own opinion.

lightweight flywheel is like the short shifter in terms of driving enjoyment. Unlike the short throw shifter, you actually gain power too. Not that 3-4 hp is going to make the car into a super jet powered rocket, but it is a gain and the car will feel better.

Generally speaking, I know some people have reservations about it - because they hear a light weight flywheel can make shifting/clutching more difficult (due to rpms dropping faster). However I've yet to meet a rx8 owner who had issues with one. Myself included. It's really a non issue.

Yeah I know that. Plus the car is lighter too and you gain Torque! Best of both worlds
