About those federal tires, they are decent...the only draw back is that they wear really fast. I think about 3 summers of driving in them w/ my old alero was all I got before they were junk, maybe 4 if you took them down to the cords. Over all though, they were a good tire and I never had any problems with them. They handled well, were predictable, and did good in the wet.

I won't argue with you about the price. Racing Beat is definitely not on the cheap side.

As far as spring rates and drop go they do make a significant difference in the ride quality of a car IMO.
