Best improvement modz

Yo wusup, I just got my car but am ready to take its performance to tha next stage LOL Im looking for sum upgrades that increases the power of the car like possibly a mod that blasts more fuel into the pistions. I dont really care about the mpg Im willing to bore out my fuel hoses if i can get sum more power (what is tha best overbore for this car) also my friend said that sum concrete blocks in the trunk will help w the power cause this car is RWD but will sacks of concrete work 2?

Peace

Pistons? Are you kidding me? Do you know what car you own?

O.T. - Turbo/Supercharger is the only way to get a substantial increase in power.

All I gatta say is watch Metalocalypse for good suggestions on how to murder people. Even people who are joking need to die, but die metal.

This has gotta be a joke started by a forum regular.

However, if this guy is for real he should have a 20b hung from his genitals and beaten with pistons.

can i suggest a dictionary as your first mod?

but on a more serious note, you should really consider upgrading your muffler bearings as your first mod as they are compley inadequate for this car... I have no idea what mazda was doing using those cheap muffler bearings.

one word: windshield wiper sharpeners.

Not only will it wipe better, but makes the car more aerodynamic (since as you well know, air hits the wipers before it hits your windshield).

Since the car is drag limited, your top speed will now approach 174 mph.

You know what bro, I am not going to be a total dick so I am going to help you out some. If you want SUBSTANTIAL power gains go FI (Forced Induction - see this thread https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=Exhaust) but be prepared to pay some serious cash for that. Also you may want to consider NOS. This is VERY DANGEROUS if you don’t know what you’re doing. There are quite a few posts in here on NOS… READ before you buy because you will probably blow your engine attempting a 100 shot or something stupid. If you don’t have an unlimited budget here are some things you can do.

Before getting started on anything, visit your dealer and make sure you have the latest ECU flash issued by mazda.

To Help the car breathe better with a new intake (see this thread https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=intake) the racing beat w/ the air dam is the favorite around here but it all comes down to taste. If you want noise go with the MS (Mazdaspeed) CAI (cold air intake) which is the EXACT same as the AEM, but if you want to keep stock sound but want the car to still breathe better go with the racing beat. Also for EXTREME noise go with the K&N v2 but that’s not a true CAI. Don’t expect Honda type gains from this. You get maybe 1-2Hp from this.

Also a new exhaust helps the car breathe better just like the intake. When taking more air in, you want to get it out faster. (See this thread https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...light=exhausts). Once again the general consensus around here leans towards the Racing Beat (RB) but it’s all a matter of preference for noise. I use all MS products myself and I am quite happy. Only expect 2-3HP gains from this as well. You may also want to consider a high flow CAT (catalytic converter), super cat or a midpipe (no cat). You see gains up to 8HP (reportedly)

To make the car rev up quicker, consider a new lightened flywheel. This is not exactly a cheap mod, but if you have the cash for the install or can do it yourself its worth the money. (see this thread for flywheel info https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...light=Flywheel). Before you ask, a flywheel DOES NOT make more HP! It frees up HP at the crank just remember that tidbit. For the flywheel you want to research the thread I posted because that should answer any questions about it. Flywheels are a matter of preference but also the weight and science behind it is very important. This thread is very informative so I would suggest reading it and understand how weight and inertia effects the flywheel otherwise you will be wasting your money.

To squeeze out some extra HP in the higher RPMs, consider the new RB ECU flash (see this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/racing-beat-pcm-flash-05-models-out-103383/ or go to www.racingbeat.com). All the technical data is there.

A feed final drive 4.777 changes your gear ratio and gets you up to speed MUCH faster. This is also not a cheap mod but it seems worth it from what I have read. This should help you get started regarding this mod (https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/what-differential-final-drive-ratios-available-62178/ & https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...al+drive+4.777 & https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ght=diff+ratio). Just note that
if you get this, you will have to get something to correct your speedometer because your car will report the wrong speed since you changed the gear ratio.

Power Pulleys (under drive pulleys) are something else to consider but there is MUCH debate on the effectiveness of these. Once again it something else that’s all about preference. (https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...hlight=Pulleys)

Don’t bother with headers, they do nothing in an 8. Mazda did a damn good job engineering this car, so that would probably be a waste of money.

I think that about covers what you can do to a NA (naturally aspirated) 8. Just don’t be afraid to do a search because there is plenty of stuff here and a lot of times they will answer your question. Oh yeah if you ask about a “Turbonator” or any other form of electric supercharger for 29.95 that claims 20HP or something stupid… you will be flamed to hell. Rule of thumb… if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! If something like that actually worked, trust me everyone in here would have one.

Yes, the concrete will work, what you do is mix it with water, pour it in the trunk of your pinto and then lay in face down it until hardening of the concrete occurs. That will def help with your mpg
