Best cold air intake solution ?

Hi to everyone !
I'd like to know if it's possible to replace the plastic air box which contains the air filter with another one with a different material of construction like aluminium because the original one hoverheat too much we have been searching for the best cold air intake solution.
Thanks for your replies.

This is the best intake on this site... It lets you intake all the information you need!

But really... K&N made an intake with some heatshield like substance making up most of it... Might wanna look into that

Also, 4 pages has recently been rabbled over an intake... No reason too create another thread of mindless opinions (me being one of them)

Racing Beat has a nice set up and doesn’t have the harsh sound of some of the aem and K&N intakes but it does it with a little less power due to having a extra screen to help avoid rough idle or that’s what racing beat claims.

Why do you think pots and pans tend to be made from metal? There is nothing wrong with the stock intake box. It does not overheat.

K/N makes a drop in filter for the 8..for your stock air box. Then, just add the Racing Beat Cold Air duct.

Aluminum will only dissipate heat more efficiently than plastic. That is it will heat up and transfer the heat from the engine bay into the air box better. The best way is to insulate the airbox with something like fiberglass. Problem is, if the fiberglass ever got inside the intake manifold...poof. The stock pastic is probably the best. What you want to think about, is not making a box of a different material but rather getting more "fresh" air into the air box...

The answer is...*ta-da*

I had one on my 8 and loved it!
