Best Cat-Back to Pair with a Supercat

Hey guys, I know there are dozens of threads about this out there, but not one that address this specific issue. Basically, I have Bonez Supercat, and I like the exhaust note but it gets buzzy and "zingy" at times. I was wondering who has used an aftermarket exhaust system with a Supercat, and how it fit, and how happy they were with it, but mostly which one they recommend. Hymee's is too expensive and Borla's is too fartish (from the sound clips I've heard) so I'm looking at either the Mazdaspeed Sport Exhaust or the Racing Beat REV8. Both have similar cost, the Mazdaspeed weighs less, but I've heard a lot of good things about the Racing Beat one. "Performance gained" from this is irrelevant, as I am sure there will be none, I'm just looking to "smooth out" the exhaust note a bit... perhaps deepen it.

So. What do you think?

Don't have any idea about supercat sounds, but to let you know, the Borla is just as 'fartish' as the MS exhaust, but only with a deeper grumble. And the RB weighs more than the stock exhaust.

Yeah the RB weighs more then the stock, i just got it installed a couple of days ago and when you left both of them up its a noticeable difference but a few pounds arent going to make any difference, your better off trying to lose weight then worry about a few extra pounds the new exhaust adds. However the tone is real nice and low without being overly loud, ideally suited for daily drivers IMO. At idle it sounds stock but really comes on when you press down on the accelerator. All my friends love the sound of the Racing Beat, it was well worth the money and the time it took me to drive down to Anaheim to pick it up in person also it was good to get a few answers in person

Next month RB intake, ram air and protective screen ^^

Just put a mazdaspeed sport exhaust on and it is loud on WOT but cruising is not bad. At 70mph I can live with it. In regards to RB, I have their cat back system on my SC miata and I can say that it is very well built. Noise wise it is not bad either especially for an FI car with an open top. I don't think you will be unhappy with either one. My only gripe with the mazdaspeed exhaust is that mine sticks out so far from the fender !
I spoke to a few people and it seems that some don't stick out but most do.

There are numerous comments on this forum about the perfect sound of the RB and (any) HFC and I'm have to agree with that 100%.

I have the RX8Store HFC with my RB exhaust and it is soo smooth.

The weight issue means nothing to me. You're talking a few pounds and in the grand scheme of things it won't really matter. If you are an autox or track nut than maybe, but for most of the folks on this forum it's not a big deal.

Bottom line, you won't be disappointed with the RB and a HFC.

RB & RP Supercat- Man people ask me about that cool note rather the car itself. - Also, if you dont want that "fart -in-a-can" sound , go with this setup. ...Its sounds throaty.

I have the RB and the Supercat. I HAD the Hymee and the Supercat. The Hymee and the HFC combo was too loud for me. It was hard giving up my Hymee (rumble rumble rumble) but I couldn't be on conf calls in the car with it on, plus my HOA complained (Bastards). The RB-REV8 and the Supercat is perfect.

I have that setup. The GReddy isn't an extremely loud catback on its own...just enough to know its there. After I put on the supercat too, things got plenty loud. Personally, I love this combo - plenty of flames and noise, but not too much for me. Everyone has a definition of what's "too loud", so the best bet is hearing it in person. As for the tone, there's some rasp up to 3500 rpm or so, but I've come to really like hearing that part of the powerband - it isn't cheap sounding. Once the RPMs hit 4000+, this thing is sweet music.

I haven't had any noise complaints from cops....every time I see one, I just keep my acceleration very light, and the noise is kept in check.

One of my many exhaust combos was the Racing Beat and Supercat. Out of everything I've had, I liked this sound the best in terms of NA.

just my opinion....

cut your resonater out...cut out the heavy *** muffler....get an exhaust shop to run a single sided axle back exhaust for you....

saves plenty weight and sounds good....sounds like my buddies Ti exhaust on his S2000...mine is slightly louder though....

don't look for power (NA) when it comes to exhaust and the 8....look for a sound you like and the lightest possible.

I am thinking about RP supercat and greddy sp2 catback for my 06 AT. Would the RP supercat fit? I know the catback would with a hanger from reading other forums. I am looking for a deeper sound is all.
