Best bang for your buck???

I just got an rx8. Its a 2004 with approximatly 65k miles on it. And its an automatic (dont gimme **** for it, i know i know) I noticed a lack of tourqe at the low range. I knew before buying it that i would be modding it. Whats the best way to add some tourqe to the low end? and what is the best bang for my buck? any suggestions would be great.

Oh and money is an issue. So Turbo charging is not an option at the moment. Mayb by spring time

4 k miles of Nawsss on it, nothing broke, even with all my tinkering and funny experiments

if you stick with the drop-in 55 shot and don't raise the shot, it will practically last u forever. it wont break a damn thing on your car, it will help clean the sparks a little, but just a little though

why would you steer from it? its like 500$ + 100 for a decent bottle warmer when you want to go crazy and have fun thats really all you need, an elaborate setup including gauges, remote bottle opener purge kit, etc will cost you about 1k for
+30whp, why would you NOT do it? i mean seriously wtf?

besides, this forum has plenty of people with nitrous hooked up and they seem to do just fine. that and we can help you if you wish to go this route,

^^^I agree, but going catless will turn your car into a noisy, stink machine. Save up the dough and get a Rotary Performance mid pipe with cat. Will deliver virtually the same performance, emissions legal, and will won't **** off your neighbors!

About the nos question. I just dont know a whole lot of anything about nos, i just dont feel comfortable putting it on my car. I'll search around and see what i can find out about it and try to learn a little somethin. But like i said, i have no exsperience with it so im not gonna jump right in and make that my first mod. Im takin the safer route on this one

it shouldnt be your first mod. you should do other ones before that. they dont gain much, but they will help

Im doin as much reading as i can, thats what this whole thread is for. Im just trying to get an idea from people who have actually already had experience with the rx8 (this is my first rotary car, and i gotta say im lovin it). So im not too sure on how it respondes to simple mods.

simple mods wont get you alot of whp, but start with fun DIY stuff and get a feel on working on your car and it's mechanics, stuff like throttle bypass mod, or if you have 04/05 ho bout an oil catch can for your oil neck breather mod? or colder AC mod? theres a lot of fun stuff u can do that will help a little first. then when u get comfy, go with a mid pipe or a high flow Catalytic converter

then maybe exhaust?

then get nitrous

yep, like where u live, some locations u shouldn't do the throttle coolant bypass, quite frankly, it doesn't rly do crap anyways lol, I didn't do it to my new 8, my old 8 had it done though

cooler AC mod does work

and if you really want my true opinion, its safer to PM me than to read what I write on this forum, most of the time its the complete opposite of what I wrote and I dont want you to somehow die because "taja told me so"

Lmao , new car is best bang for your buck. If you're aiming for performance why get an auto? Its like getting a mini van for the track and modding it like hell to make it fast...now why would u do that lol. Not saying the auto rx8 is as slow as a mini van...or am i?
