beginner...help

beginner...help

i just recently purchased a 2005 rx-8 AT 4-speed. i need help finding the cheapest way to modify my car for more horsepower for my money. i have looked at turbo kits but its a little tough for me to spend another 5K on it.

shoulda got an manual. no bolt ons will make a significant amount of power.

Ya you should have gotten manual. You're putting yourself about 20 hp behind from the start. Plus if you're looking for cheap horsepower you got the wrong car. Should have gone with an american car or civic instead. Dont do cheap, do it right. Figure out what you want, make a list and plan out your car. Then save for each item. You're gonna get screwed lookin for cheap though. And 5K for a turbo for the 8 is a median price. A Pettit Racing supercharger would run you over 7k.

Dude trust me you should try and posting on the AT section. Most people are gonna tell you how you should tell you to trade it in for an MT, or that an MT is way faster(which dont get me wrong it is faster). You'll just be be surrounded by more people sharing the same thing in common as you. Like i own an 04 AT and by no means neccessary do i think that i would even keep up with an MT but it makes me happy because at the end of the day i drive it and pay for it.
