Best bet is to call Billy directly and ask, I know this week he is slammed because everyones either sick or on leave.

But last I remembered he cleared out of the beatrush stuff for the RX8, but I could be wrong.

Mazda Motorsports sells the Speedsource stainless steel one for $35 and it won't wear out any time soon like brass or aluminum

alternatively you can get a delrin one from RP that is likely just as good and won't have the metal-metal vibration possibility

Let me click that link 2 posts above yours and find out for you......
This item will replace the easily worn plastic OEM piece and will decrease slack in the shifter as well as increasing shifting feel.
or the link in the OP......
The Beatrush Shifter Collar is made to reduce the shift play on the RX-8 shifter.
Made of high grade aluminum, this product will give your RX-8 a more precise and crisp shift feel.

If it was a replacement to the OEM plastic collar, doubt that it will change anything unless the OEM already broken...

I ordered the Beatrush unit as well as a SS clutch line. I feel like my clutch is 'squishy'

It usually is the pedal, not the hose. Did you check that?

Yeah I actually had the failed clutch pedal problem and welded it and put on the bracket RaceRoots offers. Definitely night and day difference, it's just minor things that bug me. Plus it was only 20 bucks! If I report that's it's not squishy anymore then this will be a good story. Just looking for a more solid response in the pedal

the only problem for the mazdaspeed one is getting a part number and having someone who got the mazda motorsports program to order one for you, for those who either don't track or haven't saved any results...

yeah, the stainless steel unit does sound better and the price its asking... you got a part number for it by chance? or perhaps have the mazda motorsports program?

If there is a demand we could make these to fit stock shifters and also the '09-'10 units. My best advice would be to use aluminum silicon bronze. This is a material that was developed in WWll for valve guides. It is still used today in aluminum heads. Trouble is the cost. Yet how much material is there in these things? Not much. Aluminum wears out, SS is too hard and transfers HNV most.
The latest stuff we use is a glass impregnated nylon with MDS added.
We have been using it for 2 years now with no failures. Our parts do not fit the OEM units. You might get it on but it is not right. The interior shape must change.
It's not a matalic so if that is the order then go back to the other choices.
Installing metal units requires some slits so you can get it on and not fall off.

We have not tried the bronze yet but we did at one time buy the rod.
The dimentions will need to be different so the programs and tooling must change. Thus the reason we never tried it.
It might be a good intrum item for the '09-'10 units. We have drawn up SS for these but not built yet. Market being how it is right now we haven't commited the funds for that product.
