Anyone scene this Simota intake?

All of the Simota intakes I have seen have the big carbon fiber box. I saw this one for sale on ebay. Not too expensive just not sure what it sounds like and what gains are made from it. Anyone have one or scene one of these before?

Yeah, I would and have done a lot of searching. I searched and every thread I read was about the Simota intake system with the carbon fiber box, not the tube like this one. I have looked through a lot of threads and not once have I scene this exact intake design. Can you give me a link to a thread that features this Simota designed intake?

They have two. one's a cone filter (I think), the other is a flat filter.

it's a piece of **** anyway, don't bother.

the only aftermarket intakes worth a damn on this car are the MS/AEM CAI or RB Revi + Duct.

I can think of at least 2 threads about this specific version. A simple search would have given you all the info you would've needed to make an educated guess on what intake to buy.

Exactly!

If you want a better intake you have four options:

1. Stock with K&N Filter
2. Stock with K&N Filter and RB duct
3. Racing beat intake and duct
4. MS/ AEM

All short ram intakes are for sound and equal loss of performance. G/L

Thanks everyone for the info.
Ross Dawg, I searched and didn't find anything on this design. As with one of the replies above the link they sent was for a different design. I am talking about a specific design, check my link above to ebay and look at the picture of the intake installed. If that's it, please send me the links. Thanks.

Anyway, I had a Bomz Racing cold air intake on my Eclipse, I liked it and could feel the difference, but the only thing that sucked was that with my Eclipse being so low to the ground it would get soak with water when it rained and one time killed the car. Not permanetely, after a few hours I was able to start it with no damage to the engine. I eventually got an AEM bypass valve and that seemed to work.
But since I have been afraid to use another cold air intake, especially on my beloved 8, that's why I am looking for a decent short ram intake. I would much prefer the cold air.

water doesnt really hurt the engine (in the amounts we are talking about.)

also, its not really a shortram since its connected to the hole in the radiator support. its about as equal as the rb (w/o duct) or the stock in terms of cold air collection. its all down to filter flow now.
