Anyone with Exoticspeed Cat back and BHR midpipe

Just got my BHR midpipe installed and wow its pretty freakin loud. I wanted it a bit louder but everytime i step on it i feel the whole street has eyes on me. Surprisingly its a bit raspy up top over 5000 rpm.

Not too too pleased i may return back to stock cat.

are you sure you dont have a leak somewhere? The BHR really shouldn't be that much louder than OEM. I had OEM cat + TurboXS catback ... then to BHR + TurboXS and there was no change in sound ... maybe a bit deeper, but not louder. And now I am BHR + Stock Catback and it sounds a bit deeper than OEM, definitely not raspy though.

I would shoot CRH an email.

I had an exoticspeed r1-t paired with my bhr midpipe. Pretty quiet while just cruising, but would get loud while doing daily redlines. The exoticspeed just gave a deeper tone compared to stock.

It is definitely deeper. I get this whistle sound coming from the pipe when i hit the throttle not sure if normal or not.

And the idle has a rattling sound once again not sure if normal.

Originally i swapped to this cause i thought my CAT was clogged and my car felt sluggish with an awful sound at higher rpms (NO cel). But i still have that loud awful sound at higher rpms with the midpipe. I inspected the CAT and its intact. I do have slightly lower compression on the front rotors so im assuming its a compresssion issue.

Just curious, does your car still feel sluggish at higher rpms? How are your coils/plugs/wires? What is this sound you describe at higher rpms?

It still does feel sluggish at high rpms. Even with the BHR midpipe. Coils and plugs were installed about 10,000 km ago and coils about 1000 km ago. I am 90 % sure its a compression issue.

Here is a video of it BEFORE the BHR midpipe:

I have a BHR catless midpipe mated to the stock catback. Im disappointed because its barely louder than stock. Only my car friends noticed it was different. Nobody else noticed it was louder. My MPG dropped like a rock though. I went from 17 mpg to 14 mpg.

I installed my BHR midpipe last week, my mpg dropped too....but it was because I was more heavy on the pedal checking out the tone thru the entire rpm range. I have the Exoticspeed catback ordered now to get the tone I like.

I took months seaching for a deep tone with little rasp and the BHR with Exoticspeed seemed to sound and look the best to me.
Just checked and I ordered the catback 5/3/13 so it should be in soon (hope!) I will def be back with an update after install.

I too have a bhr midpipe and am waiting on my r1-t...If it ever decides to show up I'll post a vid or something. Your car in your video sounds a lot louder than most bhr+exoticspeed setups though

You should have searched before buying, this midpipe isn't known for being loud lol
