Anyone ever use\try this?

I'm not one to believe most of the crap that is out there but the basic principle on this sounds right. Just looking for some opinions.

ebay item number 8028006422

Thanks in advance, Joe.

If you go for this, you a paying a lot of money for a resistor. And it won't work anyway. Don't waste your money and make the fraud any richer.

Resistor......

As you can see from the illustration, this is just a resistor.

.....5 cents, tops.

Not too bad for $20, but they don't work.

Basic principle is the air meter varies it's resistance with flow, so if you add a little resistance "up front" the sensor will tell the computer to lean-out the mixture.

In the RX-8 case, this would work for about two seconds. Then the computer would work out that the sensor was out of spec, and stop trusting it. If you're lucky it will still be drivable to the dealer, who will deny warranty for sure, due to you hacking up the sensor wires.

(I'm getting tired of typing the explanations of why this crap is CRAP.)

People who can't figure out how to add a link to Ebay in their post, should stay WELL away from this resistor!

How's this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=8028006422

Wasn't planning buying this, just looking for info./opinions.

Only owned this car for about 6 weeks so yea, I have some homework to do as I'm used to fooling with classic cars. Sorry to make ya type out that LONG explanation again.

Thanks for your concerns though.

wow there is a neon on the picture with fake smoke, never purchase anything that says THIS ITEM ADDS HORSEPOWER!!! Everyone is a noob at one point so don't take it to hard, well most of us didn't mess up as badly as you. Good thing it as only around $10.

and again it says 20 hp FOR ONLY $10. I paid $200 for my K&N and it gives me like 3 hp.
