Another exhaust question

HKS Hi-power exhaust + mid-pipe
Agency Power full exhaust
TurboXS full exhaust

Looking at getting one of these 3 exhaust combinations. Yes I've looked at videos and searched the forum/web. But even with side by side before and after videos I still can't really tell how loud they are. All I've heard people say is really fuggin loud. Is it only loud when you're on the gas or is it a constant drone when you're cruising barely on the throttle? Do the silencers quiet down the TurboXS or would I be better off getting the HKS with a resonated mid-pipe? I definitely want the exhaust louder to where people don't have to ask if its an aftermarket exhaust but I don't want people to stare at my car and ask "...really?". I really like the gains of the TurboXS, especially since they reworked the tips and you really can't beat the price but I've heard that its just too loud. I think so long as it doesn't drone on the highway (partial throttle), I'll be fine.

I'm interested in the TurboXS full exhaust, and yeah, I've heard its pretty loud. Unfortunately we're both out of luck, because I just called their customer service number yesterday and I was told that they're completely out of stock until mid-September. Sucks. However, the customer service rep also told me that they'll be offering a dual-resonated midpipe with the TurboXS to help quiet it down. I think the chances of it coming free with the exhaust similar to the current racepipe deal are pretty high. I'll be waiting until September.

HKS Hi-Power has an awesome sound and a lot of people like it, but most aren't really willing to give up an exhaust tip since it just looks kind of weird if you ask me. Don't really have much to say about Agency Power since I was never interested in it.

My buddy has a TurboXS full exhaust with racepipe and lets just say its ridiculously loud... Drone is there for sure... It sounded good with the CAT on, but with the racepipe they throw in there with it, its crazy... CAT on or off the TurboXS is still crazy loud, just with the CAT on it doesnt drone nearly as bad...

Agency Power, I have heard by buddies (Spoolin8) and its loud but it sounds good. I dont remember if he had a CAT or something else but I liked it. Only thing I didnt like about it was the tips, they look/are really thin and I didnt like it. Spoolin8 also said that when the exhaust fully warmed up it would expand (every exhaust does) but this exhaust would expand alot and it would rattle on the heat shield above the muffler. Could just be his though...

I personally like my Racing Beat Rev8 exhaust paired with a AEM CAI... sounds great, not too loud but a very clean sound, especially at higher RPMS. I cant wait to get BHR's midpipe as well, that should make it sound even better... With the CAT on, the Rev8 exhaust is a little quite but the AEM CAI makes up for it, with BHR's midpipe the exhaust will deffinately be louder and still sound clean.

As for the HKS hi-power, I have never heard it, but most of HKS products cost Arm & Leg so I dont buy their products...

Goodluck...

Actually, the HKS is one of the cheaper exhausts since it's a single exhaust.

I had the HKS and I really liked the sound. It definitely compliments the rotary note. That said, it's loud as hell. I had it paired with the rotary performance resonated midpipe and would not recommend it to most people. It might be alright with something like the BHR pipe or a cat, but with even with a single resonator it was louder than even I had hoped.

If your goal is noticeably louder with a nice note to it, without getting obnoxiously loud, then take a look at the racing beat + midpipe. I had that before the HKS and it's obviously not stock but has a more tolerable volume but a great sound.

Was looking to avoid Racing Beat because their exhausts are heavy. I'm going mostly for performance. While you don't gain much, I'd rather the horses go as far as they can and not be spoiled by added weight. I like the idea of the HKS Hi-power since it weighs as much as the dual tipped titanium exhausts but doesn't have the ridiculous price.

Is the HKS loud in a bad way? Droning while cruising or just obnoxiously loud while resonated?

It's one of the louder exhaust you can get, but with the appropriate midpipe it can be good. With the resonated midpipe it ended up being too loud for me. It will definitely pull attention, in good and bad ways. If cops are picky in your area for loud exhausts, then you'll have to be careful. I wouldn't go with a straight midpipe. I'd at least go with a single resonator.

Well I've talked to some people and looks like I won't throw on a mid-pipe AND cat-back, at least not at once. Since most of the extra grunt from exhaust upgrades come from the mid-pipe I'll replace my cat first and take it from there. So now the question is resonated or not resonated? Mysql's videos have helped out a lot but I'm looking for people who've actually made the swap (stock cat-back and mid-pipe).
